Need urgent help!! Drum brakes on fire!!

Just kidding on that last post. Thanks for all the help guys. I'm not sure what was wrong with it, but the cylinder was retracting fine. I couldn't find anything else wrong so I just pulled the shoes and springs off and just reattached everything, it seems to be working fine now. :flag:

Need urgent help!! Drum brakes on fire!!

Thats the strangest part, the adjusting wheel is adjusted all the way inward, yet it still is hanging up. I could just barely fit the drum over the shoes, so I figured it was where it needed to be. I don't see anything wrong with the way I set it up though, so I dont know what else to do.

Need urgent help!! Drum brakes on fire!!

Ok, I just replaced the wheel cylinder on the drivers side rear because it was leaking a little bit, when I looked at it I also noticed that the shoe lining was cracked. I figured this was odd since I just did the brakes about 1 month ago. So I got everything installed and went for a ride, I...

    Wiring Nightmare, Please Help!

Fixed the problem, ended up that the solenoid to starter cable had a small crack in it, which was making it ground out to the header. Unfortunately I had to get a new battery since the other one fried out with all the shorting. thanks for all the help!

    Wiring Nightmare, Please Help!

Also, for testing the starter when it's not mounted in place on the engine, do I need to run a ground to it? I'm going to use a jumper cable from the starter terminal on the solenoid to the place where the wiring connects, but should I ground the case on the starter to the neg. terminal or...

    Wiring Nightmare, Please Help!

I used a pretty good size screwdriver, I tried using a bigger one and my battery started sizzling though and poured out a little water -- so I'm thinking short for sure. Last night I messed with it some more. I pulled the wire that goes to the starter from the solenoid down and dropped the...

    Wiring Nightmare, Please Help!

I tried putting a charger on it, set at both 10 and 50 amp output, both only produced clicks. If I unplug the push on connector and crank, there is no noise at all. Which makes me think that the solenoid is OK. If it were a bad cell in the battery, wouldnt the car still start (or at least...

    Wiring Nightmare, Please Help!

I tried disconnecting the fan wiring, but still no start. The positive batt. cable is brand new, the neg. is a little older, but still intact. I'm gonna try replacing it anyway though, thanks for the ideas. Any additional suggestions are very welcome. thanks

    Wiring Nightmare, Please Help!

I ordered a 150 amp alt., since the addition of my electric fan has made my charging system a little weak. I haven't received it yet, but I figured I'd run my 4 gauge wire and fuse ahead of time, so I could have as trouble free an install as possible when I do receive it. Well the only thing I...

    Huge Problem... Please Help!!!

Ok, I started today by replacing the fuel pressure regulator. When I finished, I started the car up, but the idle wouldn't drop below 2000 RPM's. Double checked the timing, it was fine. So I unplugged the IAB, and the idle dropped a little, but was still around 1600. So I disconnected the...

polished intake, painted dash... what next?

As far as the painted dash goes, I glued an emblem to the center of my dash a while back and it pulled all the paint off with it when I removed it (word to the wise.. never use acryllic glue). So I had to repaint or live with the ugliness. I was gonna use the stock colors but I couldn't find...

polished intake, painted dash... what next?

lol... yeah I guess I could've used a little less RTV. I'm thinking the valve covers will be next to be polished though. I'd like to hide alot of those wires, but I don't want to have to snip or lengthen them to make them reach. As far as the paint, I used some of that krylon plastic paint...
