    FRPP 99-04 GT Blower Kit

    FRPP 99-04 GT Blower Kit

You missed the whole point of the thread I think. The install kit you listed is for 96-98s with PI heads, not 99 and up GT's. That is the one I got since I have a 96 with an 01 PI motor. Different fuel rails and such for 99 up so it won't work without modification. They still don't make a...

    Roush Gauge pod

it's pretty easy. the whole front panel including the vents come out on my 96 giving you plenty of room to work. Yours should be pretty similar. 4 torx screws.

    Roush Gauge pod

yes from underneath. You will be removing the whole stereo/AC panel so it would be from the front side. The Saleen boost gauge is electrical so you will have to run new tubing. You mind me asking why you're swapping out the saleen gauge?

    Roush Gauge pod

I am using autometer phantom gauges on the Saleen dash pod. They fit fine.

18's or 17's, & wider tire in rear for road race?

Like CdnNavybob said, if you plan on getting R compound tires and regularly open tracking go with 17"s. I went with 17" just for the money reason. American Iron cars seem to handle just fine with 17"s. Go to Tirerack and price the difference between 17" and 18" R compound tires. It's a big...

    1996 mustang gt upgrades

I was running 6psi with a safe tune and just blew one of my cylinders. Depends on your driving style. I used mine for open track sessions. I have the same setup as you, 01 motor in a 96GT. If you can afford it, go forged bottom end. while you're at it, throw on some blower cams, that's what...

Blew #4 cylinder, need opinions on Short block

Yeah, I think it's quieter due to the fact the the intake manifold is covering it where the cobra blower is sitting on top of it. It's really fun when you find someone to play cat and mouse with at the track. I had a newer Porsche carrera following me last time. Once you get to level 3 and 4...

Blew #4 cylinder, need opinions on Short block

Here are the videos I promised. Note that the in-car video was my first run at that track ever so, I was still learning it. Just to get a perspective on the speed, when I cross the finish line area, I am hitting aroun 90-100 mph. btw, since I was running group 2, we are only allowed to pass...

    anyone in NorCal?

Thanks for the info, I'll give them a call to see their options and pricing. I probably wont get a new motor till January so I have a little time to shop around. I've also recently been told that going to forged stroker would be a bad idea for road racing.

Blew #4 cylinder, need opinions on Short block

I don't think my blower would fit on the 3v head would it? how much more modding would I need to use the 5.4 block? So did you get yours running yet?

Blew #4 cylinder, need opinions on Short block

I would LOVE to do that but my conditions don't allow me to do that right now. Townhome with No garage, just carport :notnice: I guess I could turn my living room into a garage hahah. BTW How long did it take you to finish your block. How many hours of labor?

Blew #4 cylinder, need opinions on Short block

It is road racing on a track without the competition portion. Usually 4 20 minute sessions also called HPDE. I go through www.nasaproracing.com I'll post an in car video tonight after work.

Blew #4 cylinder, need opinions on Short block

Thanks for the tip. If that's the case, I would defintely skip on the 302 stroker. What about blower cams? Any drawbacks to running those open track? BTW, I probably won't see any more than 9-10 psi at the most. I would think I would be in the 350-400 rwhp range.

Blew #4 cylinder, need opinions on Short block

haha, yeah it sucks man. I made it through a few open track events and quarter mile runs. I guess WOT for almost 20 minutes straight a bunch of times is hard on the stock block. =) Well, I can't wait to see what a 5.0 stroker and blower cams will do running 9psi.

    shm or mph ??

Anyone hear anything negative from DSS? I was looking at the promodular stroker setup. BTW, I would go with MPH if money wasn't an issue for me.
