    It's not a ford trac-lok (no countersunk holes), or a detroit locker(detroit has no cross pin), or a powertrax no-slip(4 cross pin). It could be number of other things, but theres no way of telling by looking at that picture.

    I see the aluminum center sections in serious drag cars all the time. i wouldn't question the durability. Aluminum is less brittle than cast iron, I think.

    Who says there are more brake options for an 8.8 than a 9"? The 9" sets the standard, and if a kit is made for anything, it will be made for the 9" first.

    you can't manually shift your C4? The shifter should say D-2-1, start out in 1 go up to whatever rpm you please, bump the shifter to second and it should shift shortly afterwards, then repeat when you get ready to hit 3rd (D). Every C4 I've ever had has worked like this, even in stock form...

    Aamco C4 rebuild or TCI sizzler from Summit?

    I like C4's, but not if they have been built by TCI. I would suspect Aamco can do a decent stock type rebuild, which is really all you need. C4's are really simple and have been around for a while, most good tranny guys can do one blindfolded. TCI screws up by not paying attention to details...

    you won't be twisting anything will those tires. they will spin long before any damage is done.

    and 5 speed or 4 speed.... no need to limit yourself to 3.50's if you have OD, you can run as high as 4.30 and still cruise comfortably. If you have no OD, 3.50-ish will be about the max for easy cruising.

    you get what you pay for when it comes to roller rockers. Seriously. Energizers are one the cheapest rockers, so... I like comp pro magnum or crane gold, I've never used scorpions but they have a good rep.
