Clunks in the drivetrain after manual conversion

You're right - the driveshaft and U joints are all brand new. I changed the chunk because the old one was whining a bit and so I could get a better match to my overdrive gear.

Clunks in the drivetrain after manual conversion

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqnbEiv1y5M This is a video with the gearbox in neutral with the wheels on the ground and handbrake on. Is this amount of movement & noise normal?

Clunks in the drivetrain after manual conversion

I've swapped out the rear for a 3.55 rear (swapped the whole chunk) and the clunking is still there. I'm now pretty sure its not the diff. I had a look at the motor mounts (less than 1 yr old) and one looked like it might have been cracked - could that be causing it? How can you tell if the...

    Hydraulic clutch conversion

I did it using a girlock (or was it girling?) 1.375 stroke 0.70in bore master cylinder coupled with a PBR 0.75in slave cylinder from an XB falcon. I took heaps of photos of the whole setup. The m/c is mounted where the clutch rod would go through the firewall with 2 bolt holes and a reinforcing...

    How much HP.... 302

I was at a dyno day 2 or 3 weeks ago with heaps of mustangs. From what I saw, if youve got a decent cam I think 200 would be spot on if everything is in excellent condition and its tuned perfectly. If its worn, tired or out of tune (rich/lean) then you will get less than 200 for sure.

Tremec TKO in a 1970 Mustang?

A 1970 swap should be similar to a 67-8 except that you are likely to have more tunnel space, hence making it easier.

Weird wear patterns on roller rockers

Thanks guys, I've already pulled them off and gone to a backup set of steel crane roller tips till I can get a good set in there.

Weird wear patterns on roller rockers

I take it proform is no good then. Would you expect the same sort of thing in a harland sharp, triflow, crane or frpp in terms of rocker wear/interference? I get antsy thinking that they could potentially bind in an over-rev situation.

Weird wear patterns on roller rockers

About 80-90% have that sort of wear pattern. The only ones that dont seem to have either slightly less lateral play in the bearing shaft or a more centered lock nut mounting hole in the bearing shaft.

Weird wear patterns on roller rockers

The bearings are (should be) pretty much new with less than 5000miles, why do you ask? Quite a few rockers look like that. I'll do a count.
