    Ac Help

When it stops, will the clutch kick back on if you bypass the cycle switch? If so, you may have a failing switch or something not right with the charge/internal pressures

Progress Thread Finally got my first Fox Body - 1988 GT

I'm not sure, but it definitely doesn't look like a stock Trac-lok unit to me. Trac-loks have the big heavy duty "S" spring, whereas it looks like yours has the coil springs This is a trac lok: This is an Eaton Posi: And if someone went through the trouble of installing an aftermarket...

95 GT shaking VIOLENTLY, now will not start

Hopefully you'll get away with minimal damage. As far as the cam, that may be hard to figure out. Many manufacturers will have a grind number or part number on the end. Some won't, and if it's a custom cam then all bets are off. If it needs to be replaced, look for part numbers and go from...

95 GT shaking VIOLENTLY, now will not start

Sounds like an issue with the timing chain/set or camshaft to me, especially with the engine turning over but the distributor not turning. As others have said, it's time to tear into it.

V8stang289's 86 Gt That's Taking Way Too Long -progress Thread -

Only real changes to the car in the past couple years is I installed a factory air box and tube, and I got some gauge overlays for the stock gauges

V8stang289's 86 Gt That's Taking Way Too Long -progress Thread -

Bringing this one back to life. A lot has happened since I posted in this thread. New job and a new house among other things. Mechanically the car is still doing well, the only issues are cosmetic. I've had a little rust bubble up at the bottom of the doors (which weren't the straightest to...

Build Thread Mustang5L5's Build Thread -

I've spent the last couple days reading through this thread in my spare time. Awesome job so far. I wish I had the patience and attention to detail that you have. It's also been very informative as I have a compressor that worked great but needs resealing. I cant wait to see more progress.

Post pics of how your foxbody currently sits

Mine is chilling beside my 66 coupe that I'm resto-modding (slowly) The 86 needs some TLC. I've got newer doors and fenders to install, and I plan to replace the door/body moldings now that LMR has repros available ready for it to cool off a bit so I can get to work.

V8stang289's 86 Gt That's Taking Way Too Long -progress Thread -

Haven't updated this thread in a long time. Haven't done much to the car except drive it. I did add foglights and a Hood scoop over the last couple years, as well as MM subframe connectors and SVE CC plates. I also made some "J-pipe adjustable resonators" to kill the flowmaster drone at hwy...

    Roll call

My fox is an 86 GT, I've owned it for 8 years now. It was rough when I got it, it's a little better now. Body is still a little wavy and it has a backyard paint job, but I intend to address that in a couple years or so. Engine is a stock 89 shortblock with new rings and bearings, Exploder Gt-40...

Expired WTB, low miles 2.73 8.8 gears, maybe an LSD if the price is right.

It's just dust and gear oil residue for the most part. I wiped the teeth down and took more pics. There are a few place near the edge of the teeth that appear to have light surface rust, you can see them in the pics. It's not a job i'd want to do twice if I could help it, so I don't blame you...

Expired WTB, low miles 2.73 8.8 gears, maybe an LSD if the price is right.

I have a set of 2.73 gears out my 86 GT. Only reason I took them out was to upgrade to 3.73's. I took them out put them in the box from the 3.73's and they've been sitting in my shop since. The ring gear has 41 teeth, the pinion 15, and I don't have the nut for the pinion. I'm not 100% sure of...

    Lower to block torque spec

I've put together several SBF's over the years, I've always done 20-22 ft/lbs, regardless of head material.
