    Hmm so is that good or bad? I have read that the older k members are narrower by about a half inch or so and that the control arms can help get the wheel where it should be. Not sure if that will make anything easier or not

    Depends on if you want EGR or not, and if you want the P heads or the regulars. The P heads are suppose to be better according to some, but have the spark plug angle that could be a problem.     Try using grade 8 bolts, the hardest part is finding all the lengths you need. If you have an ac delete kit its pretty easy to get by without actually using studs

    Just go to the junkyard and get a couple more switches. Sounds like a bad switch to me. If a different switch does the same thing then I would look into the wiring going to the mirrors and use the above diagram

    Id see if you have power to the solenoid on the fender with a test light when trying to start it. That would tell you if the circuit is good all the way from the key to the solenoid.     Since you are going carb, I would just run a stock 85 Mustang dizzy. Still has the right cam gear for roller cam yet has the vacuum advance for the carb.
