Have you tried pulling any codes? I think if it was a coil it would be messed up throughout the whole rpm range...not just down low. YOu could always pull and check your EGR and see if it's still working (see if the diaphram is moving).
Can anyone tell me what voltage the TPS should be seeing at both idle and WOT?
Also...same with Fuel Pressure at the rail?

You must get the rod's atleast checked, then resized if necessary...the machinist pressing the new rod bolts in should check them like it's as natural to him as breathing. Like nosa said....be sure to know what to torque the new caps/bolts too.

A recipe for a ferrari exhaust sound:
Remove 4.6L v8
Install 3.8 v6
Add glass-packs
Never leave 1st gear, even on highway
