    Help ID'ing 620# springs

Search came back empty. I bought a set of front springs at a swap meet on sunday, and the seller said they were 620# springs. Aside from some crude stamping numpers on the side of the springs that are only 1/2 there.. there's no markings whatsoever on them. They're brand new, and measure a...

Never ending ? To use atf or gear oil?

I beg to differ. My 100% completely stock 1986 5.0 had gear oil in it. I know because I took a bath in it while pulling it out. Let me see if i can get a picture. Edit: I admit, the fluid may have been changed before I recieved the car. However, I do know that it was filled with gear...

Can Anyone Help Me With A Carfax Report?

This pickup truck has had 1 owner in California. It was originally registered as a private lease vehicle. The leasing company actually owned this vehicle and collected payments from the individual leasing it until the vehicle was sold or the lease expired. It has had no minor or moderate...

Never ending ? To use atf or gear oil?

Your 1986 5.0 T5 will use gear oil. Thats what came in my old stock 86 as well, and I would not use anything else in it specifically.

    Early timing Chain Covers

Sometime in ford production, they changed the depth of the cover. I mixed and matched a cover in my current 302 and the accessories did not line up. It turned out that although they look the same, one was 3/4" deeper than the other. I can't remember which was the earlier or later, however.

    Question about axle oil seals....?

They are indeed called axle seals. Half shaft seals would be used on an independent rear suspension, such as a corvette or 99+ cobra. They both serve the same purpose, however in different applications.

    Raped by an ebayer

$23 to ship 4 shocks is pretty damn reasonable. When I bought my set of 00R bilsteins, the box was 3 feet long and probably almost 1 foot square. Thats no small box.

Completely agreed. However the poster specifically asked where he could find a frpp stock shortblock, not whether it was in production or not.

    B&M Ripper 5-Speed install????????

As a reference point, I have a b&m ripper shifter in my 89, and it shifts great; no complaints. My roommate is the biggest cheapskate ever, but he wanted a shifter in his LX as well (convinced him to get it), so he just bought the handle from Kona (Pro-50). For the $20 he paid for it, you may...

Ackerman Theory (this one's a doosie)

If its on an off-road car, I doubt you need to be thinking about ackerman. I'd probably be more interested in the anti's, as well as bump steer.
