My cd player doesnt work when the car is running?

Another way to check and see what may be wrong is to connect the wire that is currently hooked to the blue/white and temporarily connect it with the yellow to give the amp constant 12volts. That would rule out a problem with the amp turn on lead.

My cd player doesnt work when the car is running?

This is unusual. There are no factory radio wires that change when the car is acc mode vs running. As long as the red wire on the back of the deck is hooked to accessory 12volts, the yellow wire to constant 12volts, and the black to ground, you shouldn't have any problems. Do you know if you...

My cd player doesnt work when the car is running?

Does the unit not turn on when the car is running? The only thing that I can think of is a bad voltage regulator. Some radios will not work properly if they see too much voltage. I would take the car to a autoparts store and have them check the voltage when off and when running.

    2000 subwoofer trunk convertible

I did a 4 channel for the front and rear speakers, and a mono amp for the sub. For the box I was able to get a .75 cubic ft sealed box built under the area that the top folds onto. I was actually suprised that it all fit and there was so much trunk space left.

    2000 subwoofer trunk convertible

This is what I built for my brothers 99 convertible Cobra. 2 amps and a 10" sub all fit and he can still easily get the spare tire out and haul a cooler and a couple folding chairs to the car shows...

    Shorty Antenna and poor reception

A short antenna will ruin AM reception quite a bit, and FM only slightly. I cut my stock antenna down to about 10" and AM is nearly useless, but FM still works good enough for me.

    87 mustang lx front speakers

Where was this "box" located? It does not sound like a factory part to me. If one side has it and the other doesn't, you will either need to get 2 matching ones, or get rid of the one you have to get the proper sound. If you are just adding coaxial type speakers in the doors then you shouldn't...

Mustang '04 Conv - Mach460 Premium Sound Head Unit replacement

I have used the 70-5521 harness for the 2004 mach system, and there is no need for low pass x/o for the "subs", because they aren't actually subs. They work/sound fine playing full range. You will need to use bass blockers on the main harness for the tweeters as the factory radio has them built...

2001 Mach 460 HU replacement advice needed

I just installed a new headunit for a customer in his 2001 Mustang with the Mach system the other day at work. The harness that I used is the same as the one in this link: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-cvNjqQ86FXn/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?i=120705519&s=0&cc=01 and it worked, HOWEVER, one...

    Sense wire for navigation?

Kenwood nav units work without the speed sense wire hooked up, if the antenna is in a good location.

    Mach 460 cd player

Metra makes one, but it doesn't look/fit real good. I suggest going to the dealer and getting one. All the Mustangs without the CD player had them from the factory.

2000 Mustang GT Mach 460 TUTORIAL! HELP!

You do not need a dash kit, the opening the the dash is the correct size for a aftermarket radio. As far as the harness I believe the one from the parts express link that you posted should be the right one.

    single din cd changer?

The only CD changers that interface with that deck are Alpine units, and they don't make an indash unit. The only aftermarket deck that I know of that is also a cd changer is the Pioneer AVH-P6000DVD. It is a double din 6 disc DVD player. The screen quality of the Pioneer is the best in the...

    Where do thes wires go?

DO NOT CUT THE WIRES. Get the right harness.. Metra part # 70-5511. It's $15.00 and it will save you a huge headache. Make sure you hook up the blue/white wire on the metra harness to the remote turn on lead on the back of your new deck also or you will have no sound.

    Illumination wire?

I have a older Alpine CDA-9813 and hooking up the orange wire to the illumination lead on the Alpine makes the display dim when I turn the lights on. Is there a setting for "auto dimming" on your deck?

Power amp w/out cutting through firewall ('07)

Every 2005 and up Mustang that I've installed amps in I always run the power wire through the existing large grommet on the passenger side of the firewall. I use a 1/2" aluminum tube with one end cut at an agle to push through the rubber grommet (from the inside) next to the factory wires. Once...

    Illumination wire?

No aftermarket radio will respond to the "dimmer". You need to hook up the orange illumination wire to the aftermarket radio, and you may also need to turn the dimmer feature on in the setup menu of your new deck as well. When you turn on your lights, the display and/or buttons should slightly...

    Pioneer Z2 or D3? anyone?

The Avic-Z2 and the Kenwood 7100 are the same size, as with all double din units. Because of the layout of the factory deck, the dash kit that is available for your car is more expensive than the typical ones. I personally like the Kenwood 7100 the best out of all the nav units, maily because it...

94-04 Running Wires from 4 Channel Amp to Aftermarket Door Speakers

You are correct with hooking up the speaker to the tweeter wire. Simply run a short piece of speaker wire from the new speaker up to the location where the factory tweeter plugs into the factory wire. You will disconnect the factory tweeter, and only hook up the new speaker maintaining 4 ohms...
