    feathering the gas??

    i dunno :shrug: prolly just wastes gas...... but on a similar note my friend's dad (who is a truck driver), drives around town at like 3k, and just holds it there and feathers the gas...IT'S ANNOYING!!! :mad:

    but wouldn't it be easy to tell if one of those was the problem? or could something like a bad MAF, sensors,TFI, or Computer even make that big of a difference?

    all the ports were were made larger, but they're all the same size. they were gasket matched as well. it wasn't done by me. the heads were decked so machinist said the CR should be 9.6-9.7. i think I'll do a compression check on all the cylinders first, then some other stuff to rule out any...

    i think synthetic does have smaller molecules :shrug: i found leaks in places i thought i never had on my old motor :lol:

    I have a centerforde DF clutch, FP at 42PSI vac off, timing advanced to 14*, plugs are brand new AUTOLITE 25's gapped to .60 (I have a MSD 6AL), driving skills are good I guess...I'm certainly no pro.... :shrug:...I'd love to get it dyno tuned, but there's nowhere around here to do that.

    a few questions after going to track... I went to the track this sunday. with the stuff in my sig, 75*F weather with low humidity, about 1200ft above sea level; and with removed front sway bar I ran 14.18 @ 98.32 mph with a 2.17 60'. :( very dissappointed. i ran a 14.28 with the crappy stock...

    could it be the mass air sensor even though there isn't a code? because throttle response is better with it unplgged but idle is crap.....I'm really confused :shrug:

    cylinder 1 is labeled on the cap....then counterclockwise they go (starting with #1): 13726548 but i don't think it matters as long as the rotor is at cylinder one when the balancer is at 0.... :shrug:

    It still hesitates when you tap the gas though; and the idle wanders and likes to surge and stall when stopping after pushing in the clutch. I pulled the codes and got these: Running: 33, 44. Key On Engine Off: 67, 82, 81, 85, 84, 93, 32. Could any of these be the problem? thanks in advance! one...

    I fixed the rich/lean problem by messing with the fuel pressure and sanding the O2 grounds. I guess there was probably a bad ground to the O2's...

    Codes: Thermoactor Air Problems?

    where i live in ohio we don't have emissions--so i took all that crap off. it just takes up space, looks bad, and adds weight. i don't think it gives much performance to take it off though.....but the motor does have to turn that compressor... :shrug: jaymac- sorry to change subject....but...

    i've never had an auto so im just throwing out ideas.... :shrug: pull the codes and see what you get. here's a how-to on code pulling and what the codes mean. it also shows how to make your own code puller. you'll want "2 digit codes" at the top of the page to see what the numbers mean...

    pulled the codes and the only abnormal code I got was for the ACT sensor, so I bought a new one. Didn't Make a difference :(

    i'll check the wiring and grounds, then pull the codes. When I turn up the FP, cylinders 1-4 get super rich, while cylinders 5-8 look good :shrug: I'll just have double check everything i guess thanks for your help!
