Does Base Timing Matter? 93 Lx 5.0

FORGET the multiple spark per plug, that's a matter of milliseconds and a total non-issue. Are you reading the top edge of the pointer? Are you sure the balancer hasn't slipped?

    Please Help! Rebuilt T5 Problem

I'm assuming that during the rebuild you replaced either 2nd gear, or the cluster? The number of teeth on 2nd gear changed over time, and while I'm not even sure it's possible to install a 31t gear in place of a 30t and vice-versa, I'm wondering if we're all about to find out.

Does Base Timing Matter? 93 Lx 5.0

Bumping the timing and removing the silencer were two significant power boosts some of these cars got before they even left the lot. 14-16 degrees of timing will really wake it up.

    2003-2004 Cobra Steering Rack Install

Tie rods and tie rod ENDS are different. You're hearing to use Taurus tie rod ENDS on the Cobra rack. I wouldn't do that, because running changes in the aftermarket parts means the "taurus tie rod end" you get today may not be equivalent in every dimension as the ones people used to get years...

Emissions Problem - Very High Hc

^this. Also, just cap the air tube lines on the cats and give 'er a go.

    2003-2004 Cobra Steering Rack Install

You'll need to swap the tie rods themselves (not the outer tie rod ends) for Fox pieces because they SN95 tie rods are metric threaded, and too long. You'll need a hybrid steering shaft like MM sells to mate the "D" shaped fox-body steering shaft with the triangular input shaft on the SN95 rack...

    Progress Thread Nasty Ninety Notch

yup. Crazy what such a tiny inexpensive thing can do. They've come WAY down in price since a few months ago too, IIRC.

    Progress Thread Nasty Ninety Notch

I'd never run without cats again, testing or no testing. It's just not worth the stink.

    Progress Thread Nasty Ninety Notch

I've posted about them here too, but I used an offroad H-pipe for years, and when I finally tired of the stink, I installed a pair of those little Magnaflow spun metallics. They knocked the stink right off, and I kicked myself for not doing it years sooner. And when I moved to an area with...

Cater Camber Plates For Lowered Fox ?'s

Not all CC plates create the extra bump travel required for lowered cars. MM's do. Your inner edge wear is NOT a camber problem. Camber is concentrating the wear that's caused by a toe problem, which is caused by an incorrect toe setting, or, more likely, worn inner tie rod ends, or...

    Parking Brake Handle Rattles...

Classic. Some people slip an O-ring over the end of the button, some people wedge something between the handle and the seat, I think I remember some people putting a small screw through the end of the button just to add some weight and damp it...

    Brakes 4cyl To V8 Brakes.

You'll need 1/4 inch worth of spacers on each spindle to fit the existing struts to the pad on the V8 spindle.

Exhaust Exhuast Leak Between Headers And Hpipe

Are you sure the nuts haven't just backed off or the studs stripped? They're likely 2-1/2 inch 7/16x14 bolts.

Fox 19.5 With +22offset On Fox Body

I haven't autocrossed in years and I've given up trying to figure out what wheels fit on foxbodies, but I do know the CP Mustang autox guys run ridiculously wide tires. I think they've figured out there's simply no replacement for section width as far as autocrossing a mustang goes, and their...

    What Is This Part Name?????

As with many hard-to-find new-old-stock parts, Jim at PPI has some, or had some. About halfway down the page here, but you'll fall out of your chair at the cost. http://www.performancepartsinc.com/suspension_79_93.html I would only do it if you're hard pressed for originality. Otherwise...

Fox Installing Maximum Motorsport 4-point Roll Bar + Low Slung Door Bars In My '91 Vert

After all that effort and expense, you should have the shoulder belts mounted by having them wrapped around the harness bar, not going over it and tied into the floor. Waaaaaaaay less stretch that way when push comes to crash.

    Fox Expensive Struts/shocks Worth It?

Struts and shocks really are one of those things in life where you almost always get what you pay for, and it's almost always worth it. All else being equal, if you swapped out brand new KYB's for something like Bilsteins, you'd totally feel the difference and totally be happy with the...
