    fyi, you have a tranny cooler built in to the radiator, smalll, but better than nothing. its best to turn overdrive off when towing. good luck dude:nice:

    cats burn the unburnt fuel in the exhaust system. no cats = unburnt fuel coming from tailpipe. its not an unusual situation in your case

    oil leak. possibly waterpump gasket

    i believe there the mechanical fuel pump block off plate is right where you are describing. cant remember if it takes a gasket or anything. also oil pressure sending unit right in that area. 2 things to look out for.

    FMS Thermostat housing

    removing the screw and putting rtv sealant on the threads will fix the leak. it will probably continue to leak from everywhere else though. i painted my stock housing aluminum and put it back on after getting so frustrated with the FMS part.

    looking for some good machine shops anywhere within 90 mins of boston, will drive further if needed. looking to get crank ground, rods resized, and a bore/hone. you guys had success anywhere?

    Gas cap on F150 throwing a code and dorkin up engine??

    if the gas cap is loose, the vapor pressure sensors in your gas tank will detect a fault in your evaporative emmisions system. this systems circulates vapors from the tank into the engine to be burned, however, it does not effect fuel flow or engine effifiency.

    the silver bracket mounts to the head and the black one on the water pump. i have pictures but i cant get them to post, says they are too big. if you know how to adjust that let me know, i think they will help.

    the higher the octane the more resistance it has to burning.. this is a proven fact. so if your car is running without detonation, why make the gas harder to burn??

    i just got done with my first engine rebuild. just followed instructions from a few different sources. its pretty easy, just need to take your time. my block had 110k on it, just threw bearings and a rering/hone at it. it screws now!!:nice:
