    Questions about long tube headers.

Ground is a concern if you have a radically lowered car. Mine would scrape occasionaly if I took a speed bump too fast. I'm using steeda sport springs. I never had any trouble with my LT's.

    Dyno shop in NC

I agree. Don is the man. He's a genius at dyno tuning - he gets ungodly numbers out of our cars. Look at my numbers, very impressive considering my only mods are a MAC catted h-pipe, MAC c/b, and a C&L MAF. And my cars an automatic! It will be very much worth your time to travel to Mooresville.

What year headers for my headswap?

Ditto. Don't waste your money on shorties.

    Questions about long tube headers.

I really like MAC LT's. They are inexpensive and work very well. You can get them HTS coated for $329 or ceramic coated for $429. You will see a very noticable power gain. Especailly at higher RPM's - about 3500 and above. Down low it's noticable but not as substantial. Alot of guys use...

    Modification plans

I would pass on the flowmasters. If you are looking for that deep throaty sound, most people prefer MAC flowpath to flowmaster. I know I do. MAC, Magnaflow, SLP, Borla, Dynomax, etc, all make much better exhuast than flowmaster does. Also, I would go with a 75mm t-body on the plenum, it appears...

UPR X-pipe or MAC Prochamber?? Final thoughts

With my 3.73s it droned a little between 2000-2200 RPM. It wasn't very bad. Just turned up the stereo alittle more.

285's on front?? Will this work?

Wouldn't a 17x10.5 in the rear using 315/35/17 drag radials hook really really well?

UPR X-pipe or MAC Prochamber?? Final thoughts

I say prochamber. I use to have one. It was awesome. LT's, prochamber, flowpath c/b, and crower cams can't be beat.

    SOHC vs. DOHC

Look at my solution. :D Works for me! And yes, it does matter! Try getting 295 RWHP out of a SOHC with nothing more than a C&L and a catted h-pipe!

Going to Dyno Take a guess before I go!!

Stock 5 spd is around 225-230 RWHP. You MIGHT hit 250-255. But I'd say more than likely you'll be at 240-245 RWHP. Toss some LT's on there and you will be over 255 RWHP with ease.

    catback worth it?

Elsewhere. Put that $300 into gears or LT's(MAC LT's are $329)

Stall Converter & Shift Kit for Auto GT?

Yeah, a diablochip will work fine. Truth is, it's all in the tuner.

Stall Converter & Shift Kit for Auto GT?

Get a Precision Industries stall converter. 3200 stall. Skip the shift kit and get a street/strip valve body. I use a Performance Automatic S/S. Very nice. After you get those in, get a custom tune. You will be VERY pleased. Converters run about $650, valve bodies about $220. Custom tune =...

    Automatic vs. 5-Speed GT Video?

Biggest problem for the auto is the converter. Put the right stall in there and bye bye 5 spd.

    4.6 3v vs. 2v and 4v

If you're talking 99-01 cobra 4v, then yes, the 3v might be able to pull just as hard until really high RPM's, where the 4v will pull ahead. But if you are talking 03-04 mach 1 4v, I doubt the 3v GT will hang with it at all. Now if you are taking 03-04 cobra 4v.....well that's obvious.

    1996 GT vs 2001GT

The first thing you need are gears - 4.10s are your best bet. Second, get a 3000-3200 stall torque converter along with a valve body(I use a Performance Automatic street/strip one). This will get you moving pretty good. mid-14's should be easy. After that, save up for some ported PI heads and...
