    The Tornado

Remote starters are now an option on some GM cars and I think they are a good idea for warming up Automatic tranny cars.

    NEED AVICE ON V6 EXHAUST

On the cars I've had in the past I've had both dynomax and flowmasters. I think that flowmasters sound good on some v8s but are usually too loud and drone to much on v6s. I had flows on my '96 thunderbird that had the 4.6l v8 and they sounded like crap because they droned so much at certain...

drop in a v8, supercharge, or buy a gt?

I disagree with never trading a car in. There are some times when it is better to trade it in. First of all its a lot easier than selling privately. Also, you don't have to pay tax on the amount of your trade. For example, if you sell a car privately and get $7,500 at 6% tax(in NJ) you end...

not sure how to change trans oil

Those instructions are for an automatic tranny. For a manual you just take out the lower bolt to drain the tranny and then close that bolt and take out the upper one to fill it. You will need an oil pump to pump the oil into the upper hole when you fill it. You can get one cheap at any...

    Resurfacing Rotors

Thanks for the advice, I don't think I'm gonna get the cross-drilled rotors. My current rotors are the originals and they have 41000 miles on them. If they do not apear to be warped or have any visible imperfections in them is it OK for me to just put on a new set of pads and just clean the...

    Resurfacing Rotors

My stang needs new pads soon and I had some questions about rotors: 1. Is it necessary to resurface rotors every time pads are changed or is it only when there are imperfections in the rotor surface. 2. If it is necessary to resurface rotors then do crossdrilled or slotted rotors need to...

    T-lok

I got just a t-lok in my car and kept my stock 3.27 gear ratio. I kind of wish that I had gone with the gears and a chip(mines 99+) because I would be willing to sacrifice the 1 or 2 mpg for the better acceleration with the gears. Still I am very happy with the T-lok and if you really want to...

Group Buy on UDs and Tri-Ax

Just thought I'd let everyone know that there is a group buy going on for ASP UD pulleys and Steeda Tri-Ax Shifters. The UDs are $145 + tax with belt and shipping included. Its at v6power.net under the for sale forum. Here's the link:

    Ticking Noise

Hmm...I didn't think of the tranny. Was this TSB for auto, manual or both types of transmission? I have a manual and I did change the fluid about 15k miles ago. I changed it to full synthetic, I think it was Mobil 1 Transmission fluid that I used. The only thing is that the noise is always...

    Ticking Noise

My car has been making a ticking noise for a while. I thought it was the lifters but it sounds like its louder underneath the car near the cats. I'm gonna try to listen today with my stethoscope to make sure its not from the ngine. The car runs great, the ticking is just annoying. Has anyone...

need help ASAP check engine light!!

I'm not sure but I think ODBII started in 1996, but they still should be able to read the code since it is probably ODBI which I think can still be read by their code reader.

    Ticking sound

Do you know if the TSB was for 6cylinder mustangs too? Mine is a 2001 v6 and it has been making a ticking noise too. It runs fine but the noise is annoying and I only have 40k miles on it. Also, is the TSB only for the first 36k miles or would I still be able to get it done with 40k?

    Speakers

Yeah I have 6x8 components in my car in the front andregular 6x8s in the back and they are definately different than 5x7s. As for Best Buys, I disagree about not going there. I think they have pretty good deals on car audio stuff and especially computer stuff as long as you follow the weekly ads.

    Squeeking

It was fixed under warranty so I'm not too sure how much it would have cost.

Yeah probably your tie-rod end. Mine did the same thing when it went bad and I got it fixed under warranty.

    Exhaust Price Estimating

5.0 mustangs magazine did a comparison of BBK headers to stock manifolds and actually found that it resulted in a decrease in power going to headers. The only reason to go to headers is if you're gonna go with a supercharger or Nitrous because then it probably does help increase horsepower.

CD player broken, Ford blames Flowmaster

Best buys is a good place to look, I got my head unit on Sale there and it came with free install and they sometimes have packages with subs and an amp although they don't make custom Boxes. Just check their ad online and see what kind of deals they are doing, it changes every week and...

CD player broken, Ford blames Flowmaster

$950 is way too much money in my opinion. A head unit shouldn't cost over $200 installed and the subs and amp you could get for around $300-400 installed. The only way it could cost that much is if they are giving you a reallly fancy head unit and some very high end subs. My system has a 180w...
