    There was this little trick my Father taught me on how to check the gears, what you do is jack the rear of the car up, support it with jack stands (just for safety, not necessary) put a dot on the driveshaft (magic marker, piece of tape...etc) make sure the car is in neutral, spin the tire one...

    I probably wouldn't put it on my car either, was just trying to give the OP some ideas. As for the "vortex generator effect" it could change the dynamics 100% and cause you to spin out while making a turn at any speed over 35mph :rlaugh:

    Tell the owner (or ask him nicely) that you will pay for one and he can pay for the other, if he wants to sell the car he shouldn't have a prob with that. I would want to know what the 5 & 8 records are, see if the 5 are the same on both and what the other 3 are on AutoCheck.

    What year is your wifes car? What HID kit did you get her, I assume its a V6? Did you also get her HID fogs? Easy way to tell if its the switch is to use a test light and see if you're getting power to the switch.
