    im a little confused at how shaving the head actually would alter cam timing. Especially since the cam is bolted right on to the head of these motors. Unless maybe it has something to do with how it would take a shorter belt, because the distance between the crank and cam pullies is now shorter...

    speaker wires dont connect to an amp. Pre-amp outputs connect to the amp. You can put free air subs in the door panels, theres no speaker behind the grill, on mine anyhow thats how it came. then you wont have to cut up the rear deck.

    I've never done tints myself, but i've never seen a do it your self job that looked even half way decent. I would save up and have the shop do it. Plus you generally get a life time warrenty from those shops.

    GFX fitting problem...

    how far are they off? it most likely will never fit right just bolting them on.... you'll need to shim things, enlarge some holes ect ect. As you drive a car, things bend, warp and so on, thats why things generally dont match up right.

    y wouldn't he do it? he got the motor cheap, the one he has now is junk. they both are carbed so its not going to any kind of a super hard or expensive swap. And considering you have to cut the firewall to install a 302..... Your best bet, would be to go and buy a shop manual from the ranger...

    definatly sounds like a computer problem. I dontl know if it applies to these cars or not, but with some ford computers, if it gets certain codes, it will go into "Limp" mode. It pulls timing so that the motor dosen't hurt itself, or something like that. Maybe your computer is doin something...

    just take your time. if you go at it slow and dont mash things up, the outside shouldn't change at all. your only changing the lip on the inside. what rims are you running? if the back spacing is right, you shouldn't need any spacers.
