Can anyone give me feedback on my decision to take a road trip in the mountains?

Power-wise sure. But going in February, you very well may meet some snow. I have no idea how well the roads are kept in the NC mountains. As gperry said, check the weather.

How much did you get your 2010 Mustang GT Premium out the door?

X-plan is a discount that you can get if your employer has a deal with Ford. It is usually right around the best price you'd be able to negotiate anyway. If I remember for my 2008, it was around 10% off. As far as payments, etc., just go to Bankrate.com and go to the auto loan calculator...

    question on winter driving

I'm in the boat of no space for a second car. If you guys thought the Mustangs were bad in the snow, they are incredible compared to my new M3. We had a big snowstorm in DC, so my car was parked for 4 days. When I finally HAD to go out (drive to my parents for Christmas), the side street my...

    what's your "my color"?

Mine was very similar to Darkfire's. I set it to a custom aqua color as soon as I got it and actually never changed it.

    HID problems

You didn't somehow manage to reverse the polarity, did you? Often times electrical components will smoke when hooked up backwards...

Am I Getting Hosed by the Dealership?

Doing your own work isn't always an option, even with the know-how. I designed and built a race car from ground up in college as my senior design project for my Mechanical Engineering degree, yet I can't work on my own cars. Not only is there no room to work in my parking spot in the underground...

THINKING ABOUT BUYING MUSTANG TO STORE...

If you are looking for pure financial gain, it is a terrible idea. I don't see any way that you could make money on a run of the mill GT. Say you spend $30k on a new one and pay cash. After 20 years, that $30k would've been worth $40,400 if you left it in a savings account with 1.5% interest...

    V6 exhaust - gt exhaust

The only way to really get the throaty sound of the GT is by having a V8. Dual exhaust can add a more aggressive sound to your V6 (or a really crappy sound if you buy bad mufflers), but it won't have the throaty sound you are hoping for.

Now that the 2011 is out of the closet...

Who knows... maybe the GT rear bumper will be different than the V6? I don't think they've officially released the '11 GT yet... The thing that kills it for me is the black plastic around the bottom. It wouldn't be the first time the GT and V6 had different bumpers.

Shelby was hit.. Need some advice regarding insurance.. Pics inside!!

I still think you should fight your insurance company on you having to pay your deductible. If you did nothing wrong and you got hit, you shouldn't have to pay anything out of pocket. Worst case, you'll still have the option of taking the guy to small claims court to recover the deductible and...

Shelby was hit.. Need some advice regarding insurance.. Pics inside!!

Not to sound like a broken record, but the Saturn driver should be responsible for the damage to your car. Even though they did nothing wrong, the way it is looked at legally is that they should have stopped a minimum distance away. Now if the guy that hit the Saturn was going 120 mph and the...

    Theft Deterrent System

I wouldn't mess with it!! Although I had an identical snake (I'm assuming that's an Albino Bermese Python?) in college a few years ago and it was a nice guy. Still wouldn't want to chance it though!

Possible to find an 05GT for less the 17,000 next summer?

Prices of used cars have come up a bit (dealers are offering me $4k more for my car than they were in February), but as everyone said, you should still be able to find one for under $17k now. You won't find one with the original warranty next summer though. Or even now. You'd be hard pressed to...

    F/S: 2008 Mustang GT - Low miles!

I am selling my 2008 Mustang GT Premium. Original sticker price was around $32k. Factory warranty. Garage kept. This car is loaded - only missing the Nav/Shaker 1000 and Ambient Lighting. It is Alloy Metallic (dark grey) with a black interior. It has a 5 speed manual transmission with the...

How are these cars for daily drivers????

I average about 22 MPG with city (Washington DC) and highway driving. On highway trips, I've gotten up to 29 MPG at 70-75. I've gotten over 30 MPG for shorter periods of time going 60-65. In straight city driving, I usually get between 13-17 mpg depending on how heavy footed I feel like being. I...

    so...time is coming to upgrade..

Interestingly enough, I am in the exact same position as you, considering the exact same cars. I probably won't act til early next spring though. I'm also throwing the Lexus IS-F, Audi S5, and MB C63 into the pot for consideration. If your price range is $32-$38k though, you'll be "stuck"...

All states that have the ban have an exception for emergency calls. That would include reporting agressive driving. Not ALL state lawmakers are COMPLETE idiots. :-)

    Cell Phones

California doesn't enforce them as vigorously as they lead you to believe. Not in LA anyways. I travel to LA for work every week and I think I see more people on cell phones (not hands free) than I do in the DC area. The problem is the distractions of the call, though. Not so much the cell...
