    Cam install question..already searched

Been a while. Looking to get a few more confirmations from people that have changed their cam but only removed the caps and swapped cams (no lash adjusters, followers removed). Thanks. Finally getting around to doing this.

    Squeaking Belt

So you didn't try a new OEM belt first. The Steeda UDPs work with the stock belt. I replaced my old OEM with a new OEM belt. Never had an issue.

BBK LT's are they any good?

Been having mine for over 2 years. I deleted my EGR.

    Squeaking Belt

Not normal. I changed my Steeda pulleys years ago. Never heard a peep from the belt. Maybe, just guessing, your belt was almost at the point of needing replacement and the idler can't adjust enough for the slight difference with the UDPs. I replaced my stock belt with another stock years...

    Wheel Bearings?

    That is a bargain.

    Wheel Bearings?

Going from memory, and it has been a while 1. Jack up car and remove tire 2. Remove braker caliper and bracket 3. Remove rotor 4. Remove wheel hub assembly 5. Install new wheel hub assemly (Make sure you get a new nut as they are one time use - Ford only. And the wheel hub assembly...

    I need new brakes

I like the IRS a lot. I don't drag race my car. It is definitely a DD. Just to let others know, I have had Cobra front brakes for 2+ years. The rears were changed with the IRS recently. I noticed the front brake difference (helped to have SS lines), but couldn't tell the rears changed. I...

    I need new brakes

Nope. I just went with the IRS.

    I need new brakes

I agree the front is a huge difference. More stopping power from the end that provides 80-85% of all stopping power is dramatic. I just wouldn't spend the $300 on the rears. Not enough of a difference.

    Wheel Bearings?

Save yourself some money and do it yourself. Very simple job.

    Wheel Bearings?

Front wheel bearings (hub assembly) is an easy DIY job. And as others have said, not serviceable. I also thought wheel bearing check was top bottom hand position on the tire, not left right.

    I need new brakes

Not sure what you meant by this part. The slightly larger radius is what helps, though for rears that provide 15-20% stopping power, that radius difference isn't doing much.

    I need new brakes

The reason for stating you can use your existing GT pads is some people if either converting to IRS or just getting the Mach bracket and shield will not need new calipers and pads.

    I need new brakes

After removing the tire: 1. remove e-brake cable 2. remove caliper (2 bolts) 3. remove old pads 4. Using brake tool, twist caliper piston in (it may be a little easier if you attach a bleeder hose and crack the bleeder screw, if not make sure the fluid doesn't overflow in the master...

    I need new brakes

As long as the GT pads are slightly worn, you can use them when you make the swap. The reason the rotor is thicker is because it is vented and the GT is solid.

    Used mach 1 suspension

Yes, they should be good. Just check for any visual signs of leaks.

    I need new brakes

The larger vented rotor of the Cobra/Mach/Bullitt dispate the heat better, I don't think the same exact caliper and pad in GT and Cobra makes any difference unless you are doing some serious track events, and then the cooling effect is the vented larger rotors to dissipate the heat. That is why...

    I need new brakes

Rear cobra/Mach/Bullit brakes do nothing but add a vented rotor. Yeah, the rotor may be larger, but the disc pad area is exactly the same. The calipers are the same. I do now have Cobra brakes in front and rear, but the rears were a must for the IRS.

'03 Cobra IRS onto '02 GT

You can't use the GT rotors, ABS sensors, catback, LCA, UCA, springs, or shocks on the IRS. Give them all up. The only thing you can re-use from your GT is the e-brake cable and the calipers. Remember to take the snubber off your car. I would still do the swap. I like the IRS on my GT.

    GTs with IRS, a community?

I installed my IRS about 2 weeks ago. Did it myself with the help of my buddy in my garage. Much better handling on bumps in the turns. No real problems with the install, though I had the wrong rotors. I seem to have a small noise from the left side that I haven't determined what it is...
