    ABS

You can also try to brute-force it and check the ABS sensor at all 4 wheels. Make sure the tone wheel (toothed) is clean with no metal junk on it, make sure the ABS sensor doesn't look damaged or the wire is damaged by road junk... Most failures are on the sensors...

    AC HELP!!

Friend got burned with the blend air door. Bought a Taurus SHO at a used-car lot (bad idea) during the very early spring. Salesman told him "only problem is it needs a new thermostat, it is stuck open and won't produce any heat in the car." Friend bought it, hook, line and sinker. Turns out...

    spark plug wire

use some sparkplug boot grease. And easy on the twisting and more on the pulling holding only the boot. Twisting too much can cause the snap-on electrode in the boot to break loose and pull out...

    Installed bullitt brakes: Problem!

If you drive very slowly, and lightly press the brake, you will feel a warped rotor as the brakes drag and release due to the warp. If a caliper is rusted, it won't provide any braking, and it won't provide any pulsing or anything else since it is not moving... If you feel the...

    Installed bullitt brakes: Problem!

Depends. If you can get the piston(s) out, then anything can be rebuilt. But if it is rusted in solidly, you might find it impossible to extract the thing. Best bet is the block of wood, with motor cranked to get the hydro-boost kicking in and see if you can develop enough pressure to push...

    Shifter Block, Spring, and Ball

I assume you are having problems with the ball and spring that go under the block and ride in a channel as you move the lever left and right. My son and I recently took his 3650 apart tracking down a shifting problem. I do not remember having a problem getting it back together, it was...

    AOD problem??

one other odd thing is it could be the A/C cycling switch. If it goes nuts, it will rapidly cycle the A/C clutch, which will make the motor jerk significantly and feel just like a miss or tranny problem. If the problem doesn't happen with the A/C off, that could be your issue. If it happens...

Got a strange A/C problem???? Any Ideas

Probably should address it however. That will wear/fatigue that brittle hose and can cause it to crack under the 200+ PSI pressures that R134a systems operate with

What's the best hitch setup for a 99-04 Mustang?

This is not about "power to pull". It is about controlling the load while under way, in crosswinds and turbulence produced by 18 wheelers, as well as stopping the thing safely. The "pulling" is the easy part. The "controlling" is not so easy.

What's the best hitch setup for a 99-04 Mustang?

That "general rule of thumb" is junk. I have a ranger that weighs 3700 pounds, has a 5800 pound tow rating from ford and I pull 5,000 pounds all the time. The problem is not pulling, it is controlling and stopping. Those are two different issues. Trailer brakes (surge) make a difference...

Got a strange A/C problem???? Any Ideas

you ought to get a helper and raise the hood to see where it is coming from. Be sure to wear some safety glasses.

    t-45 Tailhousing Swap

It is easy to reinstall as well. Just align the hold in the steel shift block with the hole in the shaft. Use a hammer to tap the rolled pin back in until it is flush...

So, tonight at the track...I have questions..

You can try bead sealer. Break the beads from the rim, coat it with this stuff that looks/smells like airplane cement, then inflate and leave alone for a while. Other choice is to drill the rim and install screws into the bead, which of course means you will be using a tube if you are not already.

    a/c problem, need help!

Sounds like either (a) the low pressure cycling switch is bad or (b) your freon charge is too low. One quick check is to disconnect the cycling switch (it is on the drier on the passenger side near the firewall, switch has a connector with two pins). Use a jumper and short the connector...

    AC HELP!!

You need to hook up a set of guages and look at liquid and suction pressures. If the orifice tube is blocked, suction pressure will be low and pressure line may be high (or not). Also you need to verify that the blend-air door is moving and that it isn't stuck in a partially-open mode where...

Do i have to use a wet kit?

also the "if it is full, it is on" is a dangerous way to operate. If it is on, and it develops a leak, then _you_ will be "off"... keeping it off except when at the track is simply a safety feature...

    overheating?

Actually you need it there just as much. The air box gets _cold_ around the evaporator core, and the heater core is right in there. You could potentially freeze the heater core prior to the motor warming up given the right conditions. And your water pump needs lubricant, which the antifreeze...

Change spark plugs after sea foam?

because it is a complete waste of time and money... Probably won't hurt so long as you keep it off the mass air sensor, etc. But it won't help a thing. Find a 4-cycle lawn mower, pull the head and look at top of piston, valves, head, combustion chamber, etc. Run sea-foam through it. Pull...

    Maybe i'm paranoid but.....

Two easy choices: (1) set cruise exactly on 60. When you pass a mile marker start a timer. When you go 5 miles, stop it. If your speedo is dead on, as you stop it it will read 5 minutes exactly. If it is more than 5 minutes, you are going less than 60. (2) borrow someone's GPS. I...

module on pass. side fenderwell. it keeps burning out.

There are other possiblities including an intermittent short caused by missing/broken insulation on the fuel pump wiring. Saw one a year ago where squirrels were hiding stuff on top of a fuel tank, but unfortunately their claws are sharp enough to cut the wiring insulation easily.
