Dont have to worry about 05 GT highway speed

T&J dynoed 279rwhp/300rwtq with MTX, which translates to about 320/345 at the crank. Ford has definitely underrated this car's output. :nice:

    2005 stock dyno numbers 279rwhp 300TQ

Yup...more like 320hp on a manual car. I have to attribute the increased power over the Mach I to the variable cam timing system. After all, the Mach 4V heads flow about 10% more than the 3V GT heads. I'd love to see what a 4V car with variable cam timing could do... :nice: Remember in...

    What Mods for a 2005?

If it's not the same it's similar...hypereutectic pistons and powdered steel rods... :nonono: It will probably be good to 425rwhp...anything beyond that is on borrowed time.

    What Mods for a 2005?

Haha...I already went that way with my last car, and it gets expensive. I'm trying to keep costs down on this one. If I *were* to a SC on this car, I think a Kenne-Bell or Whipple would be awesome. :nice: My last GT was actually the most fun to drive with 4.10s, underdrive pulleys, and a...

    What Mods for a 2005?

Hey man, how's it going? I sold it to a 19 year old down in South Georgia. I just hope he doesn't kill himself. :notnice: How's your car running? Feel free to e-mail or PM me if you want to chat! Andy

    Manual v Automatic question...

So the answer is YES in practical terms. A manual transmission eats about 15% of engine power in frictional losses, where an auto eats around 20%. Not a huge difference, but every rwhp counts. :)

    Where's DSG?!?

Why oh why, did they go with Mineral Gray instead of Dark Shadow Gray?!? I like MG, but DSG is just...sublime. Why can't they do both? :nonono: Damn you Fooooooooooorrrrrrddddd!!! :bang:

Info on 2006 SVT and SE Mustangs...

Sure, and you can pick your lunch from the gumdrop trees. :rlaugh: The Cobra will go through some minor drivetrain changes, but nothing drastic. I'd expect to see the same motor & transmission that's in the 2003/4 Cobra, but uptuned to maybe 425hp.

Some clarification on MT's 05 GT track test

I've heard rumors that the auto will actually be quicker than the manual if you can keep it out of the overdrive gears. 4.10s should go in this car, whatever transmission you choose. :nice:

Texas State Fair Mustangs: Is that pleather?

The current gen Mustang "leather" interior is actually vinyl with leather inserts on the seating areas. I suspect the new one will be the same. Note in the brochures and order sheets it doesn't say "leather interior" or "full leather interior," it says something like "premium interior with...

Anybody know the cost of the Cammer motor? I'd love to see a Boss 302 with that motor...it would be worth a LOT to me... :)

    What Mods for a 2005?

I'm planning on getting a new Mustang in either late 2005 or 2006, and I'm making a list of mods I would want to do. I don't want to go with as radical a setup as I had on my last car (see below), but want it to just be a fun daily driver. I'm thinking: 4.10 gears Magnaflow (packs?)...

is the GT redline only 6000 rpm?

The redline appears to be set at either 6000 or 6250, just like the current car. Rmember, these are essentially truck heads, and may not flow real well much beyond that rpm level. The real limiting factor, though, is probably the valve springs, as in the current car. Better springs (and...

Here is what the 05 Mustang GT REALLY runs

Hmm... I think we can stipulate that mball is a troll. That said, let's look at the arguments. Does a stock EVO beast a stock 2005 GT. Probably. However, if you spend on the GT in mods what you would spend on the stock EVO, you'll be DEEP into the 12s. Hell, I'd love to see a 2005 GT...

2006 or 07Shelby Mustang Vs 06 Svt Mustang

I think it will be close. I suspect it will retail around the same price as the SVT stuff, $35K - $40K tops.
