    replacing my fuel pressure regulator

The fox stang's have a different intake TB design than the 94/95's. I agree on the Fox stang's that it would be easier if you removed the TB. On the 94/95's, the intake opening is bent, so its not in the way for accessing the FPR. Also, the screw heads are on bottom on the fox's making them a...

    Fuel pressure question - FPR

Thanks guys. That's what I thought. I'm going to change it out. I'll let you know if the fuel pressure drops a bit. Cheers

    Fuel pressure question - FPR

Oops, you're right, other way around with the vacuum on/off. lol I should also mention that my maintenance manuals say spec fuel pressure at idle is 30-45 psi. So technically, I'm within spec. As I said previously though, I think 44 psi at idle is too high on a stock machine.

    Fuel pressure question - FPR

I've been noticing that my car seems to run quite rich after a cold start (Very strong gas smell from exhaust for the first few minutes) It also occasionally idles a bit rough when cold. Once the car warms up and is in closed loop, the rich smell goes away and idles quite smooth. I replaced...

    What TB?

You're 100% correct. I've been playing with my idle a bit lately. If you turn the idle trim screw too far out (CCW), you WILL get a hanging idle....guaranteed. Turn it back in (CW) so it's only open about 1 full turn or less from fully closed and you're hanging idle disappears. Turning the...

My pinging is so bad a mini van passed me.

He didn't say it pinged at WOT. He said it pings above 2800 rpms once the car is warmed up (closed loop). It most definitely could be the EGR valve (or lack of it if it's removed/not functioning).

    HP vs TORQUE? What's better??

One more comparison I read somewhere.... Torque #'s tell you how much work an engine is capable of doing. Horsepower #'s tell you how fast the engine is capable of doing that work. That's a good comparison.......you don't want one without the other! :D Look at the specs for a...

Car randomly dieng out then not starting

You didn't mention it in the earlier post, so I'll mention it now. You need to check for computer trouble codes. The Haynes manual has a procedure to check the PIP and the TFI. However, since your problems are temperature related, you may or may not be able to dupilicate them when you start...

My pinging is so bad a mini van passed me.

You need to check for any computer trouble codes. Also, have you deleted the EGR valve? If you havn't, make sure you're EGR valve is functioning correctly. If the EGR valve is not opening when it's supposed to, your a/f mixture will be lean........resulting in pinging.

Car randomly dieng out then not starting

It's a bit more involved than that. You need a press to remove/install the distributor gear. Once the gear is removed, it's easy. Read the following link for a step by step procedure; http://www.turbotbird.com/techinfo/TFI-PIP/TFI-PIP.htm The above article says you can use a soft mallet...

HELP!! oil spitting out my dipstick hole.

It may help, but it sounds like you have some blow-by past the piston rings. Try the original intake tube to see if that helps. I would also do a compression check.

HELP!! oil spitting out my dipstick hole.

Absolutely. Your crankcase was becoming pressurized causing oil to squirt out any gap it could find. They were probably trying to fix some other issue and thought that would help. It just goes to show, if you don't fix something right the first time, you're going to create more (and usually...

    Poor MPG

That's amazing!! Is this the same thing as those Helix Power spacers? I thought their claims were crap, but obviously not! Anyone else have positive results with these spacers?

    Poor MPG

One more thing to check for those of you who still have the stock air pump/thermactor system.... My car wasn't getting the mpg's I thought it should so I started checking a few things. Plugs and O2's looked like the car was running rich (hence the poor gas mileage). I discovered the...

HELP!! oil spitting out my dipstick hole.

Sounds like your crankcase is pressurized. I would say that your PCV valve and the filter underneath the PCV valve need to replaced. Cheers

    Question about timing?

I run 12* with no pinging using regular unleaded.

Shop Manual on CD for 95 Mustang?

Just get the one from E-bay. It's a pirated copy of the actual Ford shop manual. I think mine only cost $7 for the 95 model year. A factory shop manual is an absolute must if you're serious about fixing your car the right way. Between that and a Haynes manual, there shouldn't be anything...

whats the oil guage actually tell me?

Are you sure about that? I'm pretty sure the design wasn't changed until 94 with the rest of the major overhaul that Ford did on the Mustang. Then again, I've never owned a 93, so I could be wrong. Anyone else know? I'm not trying to be a d!ck here, but considering all of the facts that...

    Thunderbird 5.0L compard to 95 5.0L

According to the website I posted (along with other references that I've seen) the cougar's and t-birds do have a roller block.
