    remember the guy...

Down in the dumbass part of the south (Macon, GA) we say "mechanic professionally" more than technician for some reason, but I assure you that in my resume' I refer to myself as an automotive technician lol. Yes I could have asked any idiot the same question about the hose clamps and come to...

    remember the guy...

I have use a spring compressor that fits inside the spring, and when you are done, collapses and fits through the hole in the bottom of the control arm a number of times. This is by far the safest method I have used. A couple times I have used the method of unbolting the back of the A arm and...

    HELP!!! TWISTED DRIVESHAFT!!!

The clicking you heard was the parking paw. You put it in park before the tail shaft stopped spinning. Post pics of the drive shaft. I've never heard of one twisting, only breaking.

    Magnaflow Mufflers

All magnaflow mufflers are stainless steel, but they do have a cheaper line of mufflers that are not polished.

    Finally got my first car!!

Macon is a billion times worse than mcdonough. Im trying to find a new job in atl so I can move back. I did the AMS drags a few times towards the beginning of the first year they were doing it. I also used to go to the summit car shows all the time.

My Head and Intake Swap Progress/?'s

Take off the baffle and see if they clear with one gasket before double stacking them. Do not use super glue, use RTV. You would probably make more money recycling the old upper than lower intake than you would selling it.

    Finally got my first car!!

Nice lookin car. My pace car was my first car and now 7 years later I still have it. I lived on the stockbridge/mcdonough line for 16 years before moving to macon last year. Both of your brothers vehicles look very familiar like I've seen them around, or I've met him. I have a bad memory when...

My Head and Intake Swap Progress/?'s

The bottom nut part of the red and yellow circled part swivels. Unscrew it there, I think its a 1" or a 1 1/16" I cant really tell whats being circled in the red circle. If its the braket that holds the heater tube down, then just unbolt it. I think its a 12 or a 13mm

    Magaflow cat-back review and opinions

I used the discount code at partshopper and got mine for like $330 about 3 years ago. Mine is actually loud in all ranges and screams when puttin your foot into it. But Im sure its due to my combo.

    Flex fan versus electric fan

Everyone insists that you upgrade to a 3G because a good fan will over tax the electrical system. A Taurus fan or a mark VIII fan will draw over 35 amps at start up. A proform fan is a pretty weak fan and doesn't blow near the air that either of the fans I listed do. I had a stock alt for about...

Removed quad shocks, have wheel hop, what to do

You'll probably need upper and lower control arms at the very least to cut down on the wheel hop. Even with aftermarket lower control arms I had wheel hop so I had to get new quad shocks. Wheel spacers are never a good idea IMO.

    AOD opinions

When no one knows, would you rather have bad advice, or no advice? If you are going to do anything performance wise to either the engine or trans, first and foremost you need to rebuild it. I would get a manual reverse valve body and I would base the stall on the engine combo. I'm not sure...

    AC Gurus...Critique my 134a results

That looks great to me. Mine doesn't get lower than 44º after the same conversion, however being an early fox, mine is an expansion valve system, not an orifice tube/cycling compressor system.

Looking for others who have the SSBrakes rear disc conversion kit...

One thing you are all not taking into consideration is drum brakes offer more braking power at lower brake fluid pressure. They have much greater brake surface area. The reasons manufacturers went to disk brakes especially on the front is to reduce brake fade and unequal left to right...

quick hello, and a sick pic update!

Awesome car, even though I hate sbc's in rat rods lol. It would be even cooler with a blown 392 hemi or a flat head ford v8.

    My 351 build with pics

I never said EFI 5.0s never came with them, I just said I haven't seen one that did. It still doesn't excuse the fact that you have no idea what in the hell you're blathering about. To the O.P. sorry for derailing your thread. It looks like you're on the right track with that new motor.

    hood wont unlatch need help

Reach up under the front and pull the lever the wire attaches too. If that doesn't work you may need to have a friend put some pressure on the hood while you pull the release.

    My 351 build with pics

Yes, its purpose is to make the mechanical fuel pump work on carbed cars. I have never seen a EFI 5.0 or 5.8 with one.
