Need help by tonight, engine problems continue

Your timing may be set at 12* on your harmonic balancer, but your balancer may be old, and like most old balancers, the Timing marks slip. A dead give away of a crappy needed to be replaced balancer are cranks in the rubber ring. Most of the leaks you described are pretty easy to fix. Are you...

    The Ford T-5 (Germany's Mustang)

The mustang was named the T-5 in germany because the germans already had a truck called the mustang. I believe the t-5 and any other mustang share the same parts, which you should be able to replace at any mustang supplier. If you plan on going the concours restoration of your t-5, I fear that...

    Timing Question

The Po probably did the timing with a vacumm guage and set it to where he achieved the most vacumm, which can result in a large amount of advance. Setting your timing should always be done with a light for accurate settings. Mike

    quick finishing question

A buffed out clear coat can be color sanded at anytime. I would use a very fine grit and go over the areas you missed, and rebuff. Mike

I would spend the 9 bucks and have it turned again to remove the "flat spot" if it helps than your good to go. Mike

    Hydrocarbons.....

Soo if I lean out the carb, retard the timing, loosen up the carb, and probalby remove the air cleaner all together ( all of this will be done right before the test and put back right after), and it runs like crap but passes hydrocarbons at idle, Will it still pass Carbon monoxide levels at...

    Starter, Flexplate woes

The one that went bad recently was a NAPA reman.....I cored it in for a reman Checker brand and it A. looks wayyy beefier and B it works 100% better. The NAPA was sluggish and and would grind every 5 seconds. The checker is perky and fast and never grinds. I had to use a 1/8" shim for the...

Considering lots of Nitrous, what do you suggest?

Run your new cam first and see how you like the power......A new cam can make worlds of a difference, especially if your upgrading from stock. As for nitrous, In my opinion when tuned right, it can put as little stress as running N/A. What kind of pistons are you running? Cast, forged, or...

    Hydrocarbons.....

Not for the stang....shes exempt. I recently bought a 75 Rv with a 360 dodge engine in it that failed today. All was fine except for the hydrocarbon reading at idle. I readjusted my mixture screws, and the idle cleared up a ton. Wouldnt even idle before. Anything else I can do to ensure i dont...

Went to the track last night :(

Make sure you accompany your new rear with a set of slicks.......Ya I hate it when i rush things, drive out of town, and mess something up. I just keep thinking the rest of the day, man I should have waited :( In the end though, once you get everything squared away, you should be rewarded with...

    Transmission oil spewing from tube

When ATF heats up, it expands greatly, For your transmission to overflow out the dipstick may indicate an overheating issue. When this happens, get under the car and listen for the tranny fluid boiling (like boiling water). Does the car shift weird or have any other problems with the tranny? Mike

    Adjusting Fuel gauge

Im not 100% positive on voltage but I think its around 6 for the guages. The constant voltage regulator would throw it off for sure. If the sending units are bad then yes it can as well throw the reading off.Normally if the sending units are bad, you wont get any reading at all. Pop your wires...
