Break in time for freshened motor?

1,000 miles is probably a safe bet.

Just switched to Dynomax race bullets, WOW.

Obviously you've stoned yourself stupid, because the thread starter made comments about all different kinds of exhaust, not just Dynomax. :rlaugh:

    Thumper heads vs. gt-40 heads?

OMG, you guys know each other? I never would have guessed.

Can my computer run this motor?

Hard starting means you have the timing advanced too far if I'm not mistaken, but if the car runs well at that point and doesn't give you any detonation, you don't really have too much of a problem. Have you tried just retarding the timing a little bit to perhaps find a good compromise between...

Just switched to Dynomax race bullets, WOW.

I've got a Magnaflow catback following an off-road H-pipe and BBK shorties on mine. I've gotta say, I love the Magnaflows. I knew those were what I wanted after seeing/hearing this vid: http://www.thefleshrocket.com/images/cars/MagnaflowsandLTs.mov It's Quicktime format which sucks, but...

How does a clutch firewall adjuster work?

I hate to sound dumb, but I don't understand what you mean. I'm pretty sure I must have to do something with the adjuster on the firewall. How will pushing on the clutch help if I don't mess with the adjuster itself?

How does a clutch firewall adjuster work?

Ahhh okay. I could've sworn the previous owner said he put an aftermarket one in there but I guess not. So how do I go about adjusting the clutch engagement then? Thanks!

How does a clutch firewall adjuster work?

Okay, I got in there and found my adjuster. Except I can't figure out how to adjust it. There's one tiny little nut on it, which is so close to the part that turns that I can't get a socket in there. I was able to move the part that turns a little to the left or right but it moves back to its...

    Shifter or tranny at fault?

What's a T5 usually cost in a junkyard? Don't they modify the trans that you send them? If that's the case and I send them some junkyard tranny, who knows what kinda condition it's in! My T5 seems like it's in great shape, aside from the 1st and 2nd gear synchros. I found a T5 rebuild...

    Shifter or tranny at fault?

Baby TransAm? Don't insult it! :D I've actually got an '89 T/A sitting in my buddy's garage. It's my brother's, has a new trans and engine but needs paint badly, and I could have it for $2000. But I decided I didn't want to throw money into that poorly engineered piece of crap, so I bought...

How does a clutch firewall adjuster work?

Sweet, that helps alot! I'll adjust it this afternoon when I install my EBC Greenstuff pads and TriAx shifter.

TFS 1? or XE270HR? Which cam is better for my combo?

There was a point at which I knew how duration and lift affected engine performance, but that was about 10 years ago. So I'm curious as to what people who know have to say about this.

How does a clutch firewall adjuster work?

The previous owner of my Stang said that he installed a firewall clutch adjuster. He has the clutch set to engage all the way near the top of the pedal travel, which I don't like. Soo.. a few questions: What does the adjuster look like? Is it located on the passenger compartment side...

    Shifter or tranny at fault?

The Liberty tranny seems like a good deal. In the thread Hissin50 linked to, a guy there said he got a Liberty T5 for $681.40, shipped. (Albeit after shipping in his transmission.) The only thing I might have a problem with is shipping them my core. I can't really afford to be without my...

    Shifter or tranny at fault?

Well, I found more info about the G-Force transmission at 5speeds.com but at $1800 for a complete tranny, that's definitely more than I want to spend. I'm in the process of upgrading my suspension so that I can autocross semi-successfully in the spring so I don't have any room in the budget for...

    Shifter or tranny at fault?

I just bought the car two weeks ago (73K miles on it) and ordered the shifter two days after I got it home. :nonono: I take it a G-Force is an upgraded version of the T5? If so, where do I get one, and how much do they cost? Conversely, do you know how big of a deal it is to simply...

    Shifter or tranny at fault?

I've thought about new fluid. I'm sure it's posted somewhere, but what's the T5 take?

    Shifter or tranny at fault?

Really? I had a '93 LX I had a couple years back and I don't remember having any problems downshifting to first while rolling with it.

Trick Flow Top End Kit - Summit Racing - TFS-K514-350-370 - What do you think?

Aside from the engine bolt-ons, what other mods do you have? And what sort of rubber and rear gear do you run? I'm pretty sure my vert is good for mid or upper 13s with 2.73s and 225/55 street rubber and an engine built pretty similar to what's been described here.
