    Convertible top installation

thanks for all the info. i'm going to call a few upholstery shops tomorrow and see what the going rate is on a top installation. i'm a picky person but i'm also cheap, so i suppose they cancel each other out. i've got some free time this weekend so i might end up doing it myself (and screwing up...

    Pot Metal

you would be crazy to rechrome the tail light bezels on a '66 mustang. you can buy original chrome parts from states like arizona that look almost new and cost far less than rechromed parts. i've only rechromed stuff for 50's and earlier cars, and thats only because i couldn't find reproduction...

Is this the end of the second muscle car era?

All this talk about rationing and lines at gas stations is crazy. I filled the mustang up and put $50 freaking dollars into it!!! I'm sure the classics will be mostly immune from this (considering they aren't driven regularly), but what about the new ones (svt fords, hemi, etc.). Gas prices made...

    Questions about a classic

It depends on what you are looking to do with the car that will determine what you should buy and spend. If you want to restore the car than maybe a convertible or fastback would be a nice choice. If you want something to race than a coupe would probably be the way to go, the convertible's lack...

What are the idiot lights in '69 standard dash?

I looked into this a little more and still can't find any info.... anyone know about the seatbelt light? Is that actually the other light in a '69 standard dash?

What are the idiot lights in '69 standard dash?

The one on the top is the high beam indicator.... with the little pony that lights up  Is the seat belt light just a reminder or is it actually hooked into the seat or something. Also, was it an option?

    Power Brake Problem!!!

I noticed there is sound coming from under the dash where the brake connects to the booster, and it sounds almost like a vacuum leak. I don't remember this being there before, so I'm guessing it's the diaphragm leaking. Also, who makes a booster for a '69 power disc brake (original kind)? I...

    Power Brake Problem!!!

I'm going to test the vacuum sometime today, but I think it is the diaphragm. Where can i buy the diaphragm or do i need a whole new booster?

    Power Brake Problem!!!

I just wanted to mention that it doesn't feel like it has air in it... it feels very hard and not at all spongy. It just doesn't want to stop.

    Power Brake Problem!!!

I feel like crying... the only thing that I never replaced on my car finally seems to be dying. I have a '69 with power front disc brakes and it isn't stopping very well. A few days ago I drove the car and the wire that holds the cap on the reservoir broke loose, thus I drove the car with the...

    Why won't alternator gauge work?

I agree, good article. Does any one know if there is a fuse for the ammeter in a '69 mustang? Also, what connections would make the ammeter work? I still think that it has something to do with the electronic regulator verses the standard type... any suggestions?

Price check on a 65 fastback

Did you notice that the auction is already at $4,500 with 19 bids and 6 days 4 hours to go.

Price check on a 65 fastback

And you don't think that was unusual? I guess I can slightly change what I said .... Unless by some act of god you find a mustang GT fastback for $1,500, you can count on paying around 8k.

Price check on a 65 fastback

Anyone that says 3-4k is dreaming. The guy will probably get 9k for the car, there are a lot of people willing to pay that. I have been looking for 65-66 fastback lately and have found that almost all of them are going for at least 7,000+, even the bad ones. For a rust free car like that you...
