Should I be satisfied with my times?

I wouldn't go with a 275 much less a 305. It's too much tire for that car. A larger footprint is great for launching but then adds resistance down the track. In other words, it could actually slow you down. You want the thinnest tire that hooks adequately.

    $10,900 2003 Mustang Mach 1 : Good deal??

Even with the high miles, remember it is a collector car, which is something that costs money. A comparable GT will always be less. 9K is a good starting spot, but probably more aggressive than a dealer will go if you're financing. Cash in hand always carries its own weight.

Pic? Silver stang with Grey stripes

Car looks beautiful! I'm putting a Silver Birch Metallic paint on my '68 in the next few weeks. With that base, the sky is the limit on what colors/designs/stripes you can add. Personally, I'm looking at the black C stripes, but if I had a different year, I would seriously consider something...

Should I be satisfied with my times?

By practice, I mean learning what is the ideal launch rpm for your car without breaking your tires loose. Depends on a few things. Will you have designated tires for the track or will you buy a set for street and strip. I like the 555r's but I don't drive in adverse weather conditions, I don't...

Should I be satisfied with my times?

These cars ran low 14's out of the box. You're almost bone stock, so you're not going to get much more out of it. Your launch will be better with more appropriate tires and a little more practice, but I doubt you'll see 13's without some mods. Until then, your best chance to produce better...

    Anyone with an intercooled Vortech???

I also got the Vortech from Tim in '04 which came with a 3.6" pulley and added the Vortech A/W power cooler in '06 which dropped the pulley to a 3.33". According to a conversation I had with a Vortech technician, the 3.33" pulley equates generally to 10 lbs boost, and they don't recommend...

    Finally getting windows tinted

I'm leaning towards the 35%. The 20% does look awesome in the daylight, but can make driving a little difficult at night. In Vegas, though it's even illegal here, police really don't bother you about it because of the extreme heat; but where I lived in NY, they'd nail you every chance they got...

    Finally getting windows tinted

Post a pic. I'd like to see how the 20% looks. I've been meaning to get around to it for the last 9 years. :rlaugh: Maybe for Father's day.

    Centrifugal Issue While Cruising

I had to get a new tune because it turned out my pumps were running at 100% duty cycle. My point being I think it's a fuel issue as that sounds very similar to what was happening to me if I ran on a substandard gas. Regardless of your tune, it may have to do with a particular brand gas if it's...

    looking for some tips

10K is pushing an '02 in excellent condition. The upgrades you mentioned are fairly inexpensive and aren't going to add any monetary value to the car; just make it more attractive. Add the fact that it's a salvage title and the value tanks. Pretty as it may be, it's a VERY bad deal. IMO.

What size tires for DEEP DISH BULLITS?

I run 315's Nitto's on 9" rears with my 245's Goodyear's on 8" fronts. Tracks well. No issues.

    Centrifugal Issue While Cruising

I used to run 91 octane for long drives and that would happen on occasion with my old tune. It was a fuel issue and I could actually see it on the DBC.

    engine bay picture thread

Man, I'm about as anal as they come for keeping by engine bay clean and polished, but this even has me envious. How did you get the shock towers as glossed up as the exterior? Ford did a crap job of finishing the engine compartment and I've only ever seen one other car finished like that...

    New Best Times!

Thanks! Yea, the DA here is a killer. I figured if anyone would catch that, you would. People often ask me why I don't get better numbers with the mods I have, but they don't know we run 4000'-5500' here. I never would have thought I could get a 12.7 pass. Just for a comparison, the fastest...
