    Back from dyno...#'s decent??

If you strapped down a GT40 crate motor, and set it up with no accessories, yeah, you'd hit that 340-345 hp mark. Add on AC, power steering, fan, crank pulleys, etc., etc., and you would see that thing knocked down a bit. Man, you're dead nuts on it...enjoy it. Hax

    Back from dyno...#'s decent??

You know...I remember seeing a dyno sheet with a Kenne Bell blown 347, and it showed a reading of like 900+ ft lbs of torque...I leanred it was a torque spike or some such crap...I have also heard of auto's doing things on certain dyno's that don't reflect the true numbers...either over or...

    Back from dyno...#'s decent??

I just read an older magazine I had, and it was the MMFF Stone Pony Buildup, and using Ebrock Performer heads, Ebrock Performer intaKe, and the Ebrock cam that has all the same specs as an E303, they put down 258 RWHP/310 RWTQ...and that was with a ProM 77 MAF, 24 lb/hr injectors, and a 70 mm...

    Back from dyno...#'s decent??

One other thing, I don't remember which issue, but I think MMFF did a dyno test in which one of the participants switched toan Explorer intake, GT40P heads, Steeda #19 cam, and shorty headers/hpipe, etc., and after tuning, made similar numbers to yours. Hax

    Back from dyno...#'s decent??

Man, Those numbers are not anything to sneeze at. It shows me that Thumper's heads do run neck and neck with stock GT40 heads...you're pushing, if you figure a drivetrain loss of 15%, you're looking at 299 FWHP and 290 FWTQ...that's not all that bad. I noticed something in your sig, you...

5 Lug Disc Brake Conversion...which one?

Couple of questions, I am looking at a 5 lug/disc brake conversion for my coupe. Which one (FMS MK2300, SSBC, Baer...other?), why, and who has the best deal on it? Sir Hacksalot

    Exhaust Question

Here's the recipe for what ails you. 1.75" BBK Ceramic LT headers 2.5" BBK OR X pipe Flowmaster American Thunder Catback I just had this put on my LX Coupe, and it is exactly what you describe. I get no drone, and it's fairly tame at idle and just cruising...jump on the gas, and it...

Will I beat these rice burnner

DUDE, get some friggin gears, with that set up 4.10's are a minimum, and then look at a good set of LT headers, probably in the 1.75" Range, along wiht a good X or H pipe. I have never heard of anyone running a Z303 cam at all...that is a WHOLLOTTA Cam in that combo. My guess is that you...

    header option...

I just bolted on a set of 1.75" BBK Ceramic LT's, a BBK OR X pipe, and a Flowmaster American Thunder catback, and could not be happier. Get the LT's, and be done with it...heck, a 2.5 OR H pipe to fit the LT's is only $119...get the LT's, you won't regret it. Hax

    85 5.0 v.s 2000 v6

You know Jamez, I went through the V6 forum, and did a lot of reading, and from what I saw, every V6 in here uses the 5.0 as a measuring stick for performance. Come to think about it, just about everyone (from ricey honda's to blowin and goin LS1's, to big block classic iron) uses the 5.0 as a...

    85 5.0 v.s 2000 v6

Not only that, but the majority of them (87-92) had all forged internals and withstood 8-12 psi of boost, or a 150-175 shot of silly gas all day long....take it for what it's worth from a V6 driver...heck, even the 93-95's with Hyperpathetic pistons have taken on boost and N2O and lived to tell...

    85 5.0 v.s 2000 v6

You're right, it was another V6 guy that said that, so I do apologize for crediting you with the misquote. There, you just proved in my mind that you are indeed a moron. At least in the Buick, you can own the Integra, and still have room to shag in a heated leather seat. FYI, 32...

    Fastest Factory 5.0?

If I had to pick One '5.0' Mustang that was PRODUCED by Ford, to drag race with as it rolled off the showroom floor (I mean factory tires, exhaust, etc.) it would be a completely stripped 1987 or 1988 5.0/5 speed coupe. These things were the FIVE POINT OH that 'created' the 5.0 legacy. With...

    85 5.0 v.s 2000 v6

A couple of things...did you actually read what I wrote? You said you had never seen a ricestang, and I gave you several examples, and I do see a lot of them. I know that not all V6 Stangs are rice, and I unless I am mistaken, I never said that they were all rice. I just don't care for them...

    85 5.0 v.s 2000 v6

Actually, there isn't a lot to do, so I drink a lot, F*** my wife, and make fun of V6 guys all day long. :D ROTFLMAO...actually, I have never seen F&F or TF&TF...but I do have a kill story relating to the first movie, that even you six popper guys will appreciate. My wife and I had just...

    85 5.0 v.s 2000 v6

THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. I live in Ankeny, IA...just north of Des Moines, which is hardly the automotive trend capital of the world, and the most hidieous example of a ricestang that I have ever seen is right around the corner from my house. It's an Orange 1996-1998 six popper with a huge...
