    Why Cant It Break Loose?

A bad balancer won't affect the timing. What you see though with a timing light may be wrong if it has slipped and/or if someone altered the timing not realizing the HB may have slipped. If the HB is good then adjusting the timing a couple of degrees (base is 10* from the factory) will add a...

94 Gt 5.0 Running Horrible Plz Help

The ECU is new and you are sure it's a T4M0? Codes pulled yet? MAF for the '94 installed and known to be good? TPS signal voltage verified KOEO in idle position is about 1v and reference voltage is 5v back probing TPS sensor ground? Is the only issue is an idle surge and then dying?

Okay, but which one? There are 4 different ones IIRC. 2 for autos , 1 for manual and 1 for the cobra.

94 Gt 5.0 Running Horrible Plz Help

Your first post says you are using an '88 ECM. Which is it, '88 or '94, and if it's a '94 which one is it?

    Engine Trouble Codes!

The TPS is only a rheostat. They work from the 5v reference. They will all be the same as all the vehicles and sensors use the 5v reference. The important point is to ensure the voltage increase from 1v - 5 (actual more like 4.7) is a smooth linear progression without any fluctuation caused by a...

Before I Spend Almost 400 On A Fan Come In Here !

A lot of us have aluminum heads. When I asked my builder (the guy who guarantees the work) told me to be concerned at a constant 240*F and worried above 250*F. With the KB heat machine on mine I might see 220*F with the A/C on at a light on a hot day. I have a Be Cool aluminum rad and a Stewart...

    Engine Light Won't Go Off

And the only code being read as of today is p0340? If it is the only code check the crank sensor connection to ensure that there isn't a bent or damaged pin.

    Tensioner Knocking?

There are wear marks on the the side of the tensioner body. If the belt reaches the maximum wear mark it's too long. I thought belts could be bought in about 1/2" increments. See if this helps.

    Engine Trouble Codes!

Not so much as fine tuning but rather to bring the idle voltage signal back into spec. The spec range is from .65v to 1.25v. It is within this range that the ECU recognizes the signal as being at idle. The one by the cable on the left side. The allenhead screw is the IAC bleed valve is only...

    Engine Light Won't Go Off

Always disconnect the negative first and only the positive if removing the battery. With the negative off it will take about 15 minutes to clear the KAM (Keep Alive Memory).

    Engine Trouble Codes!

You may not be stuck quite yet. If the throttle adjusting rod/screw was messed with some time in the past in an attempt to change the TPS voltage. With the volt meter connected you can try backing off the rod/screw to bring the TPS signal into range. The caution here is when you back off on the...

    Engine Light Won't Go Off

How are you clearing the codes? Codes are checked both KOEO and KOER. With literally 100's of events that can cause a CEL one can't possibly guess. That's why one needs the assistance from a scanner/reader.

    What's The Fastest Yall've Been In/on A Vehicle?

I would be very surprised at anything over 150. What were you using to measure that speed as mine doesn't read over 150 and may not even be accurate at that speed. I could log the speed but the penalties here for that speed if caught would compound into 5 figures.

    Engine Light Won't Go Off

Have you checked the codes after having cleared any old ones? The way I read your post you still see a CEL but you haven't checked to see if it's something else.

    Engine Trouble Codes!

Yes. First check the reference voltage. You want to see 5v on the meter. Next check the signal voltage. KOEO it should be about 1v moving smoothly to about 4.7+v WOT. Installing the TPS is straight forward. It will only install on way. FWIW my FRPP TB has an adjusting ring for the TB. However...

What were the code numbers. Telling us they pulled the codes doesn't shed any light on possible causes.

    How Much Abuse?

I'm old and I like to light the tires on the on ramps when it's quiet ;). That's why I installed the KB and the AEM-EMS :) So 5.5k rpm isn't a rarity :D.

Test fuel pressure at the schrader valve and tell us the pressure. If it were the FPR you would likely see or smell gas at the vacuum line.

    Engine Light Won't Go Off

It's the camshaft position sensor. Who did the diagnostics? Since this is an 3.8 l the computer is OBDII compliant. Have someone like Autozone pull the codes and report back. There could be dozens of sensor inputs causing the CEL.
