Dyno Results... I need 2 more HP!!!

SAE is a correction for the temp and humidity that you do the pull in. For example, if you were to dyno on a day where the temp is 50 degrees w/ 10% humidity you will show more power than on a day where you dyno and it's 100 degrees w/ 80% humidity. SAE corrects these two dynos so you can...

Car is bucking and stumbling follow up

I feel like a noob for asking this, but what's a pip? Searches for *pip and pip* aren't coming up with anything. Is it what Autozone is refering to as a pick-up coil? http://www.autozone.com/images/hard_parts/wl2/wl2f123003.jpg If so it's only $19 and I'll pick one up on the way home...

    Which subframes for a vert?

I have the MM full length ones on mine. Made a nice difference. If you go with these DO NOT get them pre-powdercoated or painted. The person welding them on will have to scrape down to bare metal where he has to attach them to the car. My shop was very appreciative when they saw I got them...

Car is bucking and stumbling follow up

I'm having the same problem after my rebuild 1500 miles ago so I'm glad to hear of a possible solution. Because they were still original to the car I've now changed the wires, cap/rotor, and ignition module and the problem was still there. The next thing I need to check are the plugs, but they...

Auto guys - Which mod is better: gears or a torque convertor?

For some reason I want to think the stock stall is 1600. But I'm not sure about the STR. Back when I had an automatic LS1 TA there were huge discussions on their boards around what stall was best and how the different STR options would make the car feel. It's too bad the auto Mustangs are...

Auto guys - Which mod is better: gears or a torque convertor?

Does anyone know the stall and STR of the stock TC? I'm curious just how bad it is.

Auto guys - Which mod is better: gears or a torque convertor?

So is changing the TC as easy as dropping the trans, swapping the TC, and reinstalling the trans? Aside from being a little time consuming (mainly just because it would be my first one so I'd take my time) this doesn't seem like that hard of a job.

Auto guys - Which mod is better: gears or a torque convertor?

1 second off my times would be good as it runs like crap at the track right now. I've only been able to get one pass in because it was crazy busy, but with a bogging launch it ran 14.6@97. I wanted to shoot the horse when I picked up my time slip. And Branson? Definately heard of it. In...

is this a redneck way to get SOME boost?

When I had my air pump off earlier this year I think I remember seeing a sticker on it that said 28lbs/hr. I got to thinking and if it would take an hour to pump a tire up to 28lbs then it ain't exactly pushing enough air to be used as a redneck supercharger.

Auto guys - Which mod is better: gears or a torque convertor?

I'm looking for my next mod and it's going to be one of these two but I don't know which one will work best for my situation. The car is an auto vert, not a daily driver, but when my wife drives it (about half the time it gets driven) it needs to behave and not feel loose/weird. Here are my...

Took my 94 GT VERT to the track. RESULTS INSIDE!

Hey, shouldn't you be posting over on TPH? ;) I guess I'm getting older and don't care to take the risks that I used to on the street. From a dead stop it just takes too much real estate for this car to get up to 3rd for me to risk a ticket or hurting someone. I save those runs for the track.

Took my 94 GT VERT to the track. RESULTS INSIDE!

;), no problem with the questions. I could do it on the interstate (and now that I think about it I may have done that once since the head install) but from a stop it would take too much road and I don't want to risk being pulled over. I'm in Houston but very familiar with midwest back roads...

Took my 94 GT VERT to the track. RESULTS INSIDE!

With the auto the only thing worth practicing on the street is my launch, and even then track prep is going to trump anything I can find on any back road where I could practice. Around here there's too many people and not enough clear roads for me to be testing how the 2-3 shift feels...

Took my 94 GT VERT to the track. RESULTS INSIDE!

LOL, I guess I wasn't exactly stealthy with my jack was I ;) Still stock converter and no shift kit. The 1-2 shift feels a lot better than stock but I don't know about the 2-3 yet. I haven't stayed in it long enough to see how that one feels.

Took my 94 GT VERT to the track. RESULTS INSIDE!

For a vert that's probably pretty decient for the mods you have. Your times give me hope that I'll be able to hit 14 flat when I head to HRP in a few weeks in my 95 auto vert. I've listed my mods below if anyone wants to try to guess what it will run. GT40Y heads stock cam 1.7 RR's Cobra...

Do 1.6 rolloer rockers clear stock valve covers???

I installed 1.7 proforms a couple weeks ago and got them to fit by working four of them a little. I used a dremel and ground an angle on the ones at each end of the head so the VC would fit. I also used a double thick VC gasket. I didn't have to remove the oil baffle. I took pics of what I...

    cheapest alum head?

LOL, when I read the tread title that's the same thing I thought of before I even clicked the link. I actually wonder how some of those heads would work, but not enough to try them out myself. You could try getting in on this auction for a set of Y303s...

Q on installing equal length shorties

Hmm, I didn't even fully think about the bottom head bolts. I bet the headers will easily be in the way of those... I do have equal length shorties though. It's the unequal length shorties that are the easy ones ;)
