    Needle valve

I think I got some crap stuck in my needle valve. I opened up the throttle and felt the G's as I passed this stupid SUV on a small stretch who was doing 5 km under the limit. After that, the engine was running real rough & stumbling, lots of black smoke and it finally stalled out (when I got...

    lower control arm bushings

That's awesome! I was waiting for finances to get their whole front end kit but apparantly don't need it. This will save me some bucks. Thanks for the info.

    lower control arm bushings

When you ordered the bushings did you receive the metal sleeve as well? I've noticed some places don't offer the metal sleeve and I definately need new sleeves. For example, PST says "reuse your old sleeves" yet, from what it looks like, they also sell the whole control arm with bushings already...

    Tach drift/wander

Has anyone ever had this problem? I've heard of it on the newer stangs but it seems to be a computer problem. Not sure what it could be on mine. The idle speed wanders when the vehicle is stationary and in gear, after the idle kicks down to regular curb idle. Goes from about 900 to 400 rpm (in...

    Holy header headaches Batman!

I've been scouring the history on header's and it seems that they are a very tricky thing to have installed. But I want to ask a question: If you could redo your headers on (a 302 MII) what would you do differently? What brand/model would you buy, being practical of course? What...

    Rocker Panel Rust

I'll have a grinder and mini rotary tool. I'm sure my fiancee's cousin's husband has an arc welder, maybe even a cutting torch, that I can use. My main problem is having a dry place to do it. I just moved to a new town and have no covered parking. So hopefully I'll have a house with a decent...

    Rocker Panel Rust

The holes are below the door weatherstrip (exterior side) on the top facing part and also on the floor pan - the rust has made the metal pretty thin on the floorpan so I don't even want to try fiberglass there; also the floor pan will continue to receive doses of rainwater, road salt, etc so a...

    Misfiring when driving hard

If it's your accelerator pump you would notice symptoms of inadequate fuel delivery when the throttle is actuated under load, like when you hit  it hard, while in gear, the car will bog out or "hesitate" then will go as normal after the hesitation. Not sure if this is your problem...

    Misfiring when driving hard

Is that like a hesitation? If so, I replaced my accelerator pump not long ago and that solved all hesitation problems.

    Rocker Panel Rust

thanks. The area affected is about 1 ft sq. but the holes are only about half an inch or so scattered here and there. I could use a rust converter and try to fiberglass but I figure it's best to do new sheet metal. Thx for the Mustangs Unlimited info. I'll have to get around to ordering their...

    Rocker Panel Rust

Not sure if this is the best forum to bring this up but has anyone dealt with this successfully and what did you do? The rust is limited to the rocker panel and the driver side floor pan. I could attempt to fiberglass the rockerpanel and cut&weld a piece of regular sheet metal for the...

    Has anyone ever told you..

No insult intended perce. My comment applies more to the attitude than the condition. I'm no spring chicken myself. As the saying goes, opinions are like ____, everyone's got one. And @#$holes tend to have a need to push their negative crap onto others, hence tend to "fart" alot, if you catch my...

    Has anyone ever told you..

I get complements on my II still, and it's lost alot of it's luster (yeah, I'm working on it!). I think that the "old farts" are hard to change, especially when they start thinking about the good ol' days - you know when fuel was cheap as crap and the size and weight were only important when...

    S n o w

I hear ya. II's aren't meant to be winter driven :notnice: I live on the side of a mountain slope looking over a lake and we get tons of snow! To make it worse, I have to park on a 15-20% incline every morning. :damnit: So I've come to realize that it's easier to leave enough space behind me...

    New member/ Noisy flywheel?

yeah, my starter is pretty much fried. I can't get it to work with the no load test. just sparks and the wires get really hot. so, I'm going to try to find one of the Permenant Magnet Gear Reduction Starters through one of my local parts outlets. Hope that I can straighten out the...

    New member/ Noisy flywheel?

Thanks for all the feedback. Rufus, where would I find the number for my ringgear? Would it be somewhere on the transmission? Cobra IIW, would shimming the starter make it open to the possibility of shearing off the mounting bolts with bumps from the road and the torque applied during...

    New member/ Noisy flywheel?

Hi all. I'm proud to be the owner and restorer (ongoing) of a 75 Mustang II 302 V8. Over the next few months I will be mostly working on the body and accessorizing the look but have some suspension work to tackle first. Something more imminent and frustrating is a noise I've been getting from...
