Hybrid Body Kit pics, With one little snag

Is that a new rear fascia (bumper)? Or is it just a lower lip add on? Black cars always look great. Nice job. Tres bon!

    4.10's installed-wow!

Thanks guys. I'll do some checking around. FRPP gears are indeed the best. I had them in my '96. The trick is finding a good installer with experience in Mustang differentials. I wouldn't try to go cheap on the install cost. A good install is worth it. Just save up a little longer and get...

    TB Spacer

Hey Green Machine, hang in there. You'll get it done. What you described sounds like some of my adventures in automobile mechanics. Whenever you do something for the first time, it always is difficult. Sometimes I wonder when I see things written like....It only took me ten...

H13 Silverstar bulbs on the way!

Sylvania Silverstars are a good improvement over the stock bulbs. There are some aftermarket bulbs for sale, usually imported from Korea, that in my experience are not very well made and will not last. The Sylvanias are a good quality product that will last a good long time. I had them in my...

    4.10's installed-wow!

Those higher ratio gears allow the engine to rev up faster and get into the rpm range where you are making more torque and more power. This is good for acceleration. PDXStangDude, what was the name of the shop in Vancouver? That's not so far away from me, so I might consider spending the...

H13 Silverstar bulbs on the way!

I will be at the door of my local Autozone on the morning of Sept. 30 with cash in my hand.

    4.10's installed-wow!

Hey seattlegt, I'm from the Sunny Side of the state on the other side of the mountains. Who did you get to put in those gears, and was it a good install? By that I mean, any whine, clunks, afterward. I might go with 3.73's. They would be good enough for me and a big enough jump from the...

    TB Spacer

Sorry to hear that. Should be just a straight bolt in. But, you'll get it. Just had a look at my TB, and yes it also has studs in the 2 lower positions. I have an aFe CAI, and I think it does a good job. But, if you get a tune in something like an SCT Xcalibrator2 or Predator that is set...

brake fluid ate the paint off!!!!

Sorry to hear about your troubles Mustangmike6996, but I wonder if you really want to work at that dealership? Sounds like they are the gang that can't shoot straight.

brake fluid ate the paint off!!!!

It is weird. My dealer was also puzzled. But, I think it is a common problem. It may be that most folks just don't look under the hood very often. So they may not be reporting it. Also, brake fluid is pretty colorless, so you have to look at it from an angle to see that there is a little...

Self Installation? SS Louvers & 3dCarbon Ducktail

I can't answer all your questions, but I might be able to provide some help. I installed the 3dCarbon single piece spoiler. It was very well finished. Even the guys who painted it commented about its good quality. It's on there pretty good with bolts and a bunch of 3M industrial strength...

brake fluid ate the paint off!!!!

Hey Mustangdaren, don't count on dropping the level to stop the leak. I did exactly the same thing for exactly the same reason. It was a bit over the "Full" line so I siphoned out a little. No help. If you have seen even a little leak, you have the problem. Get your dealer to look at it...

How has your CAI + Tune affected your mileage?

You will like the performance you get with a CAI and a good tune, but as allcarfan says, you will also be trying out that performance a bunch when you first get it. So, you might be seeing mpg down in the 14-15 range until you lighten up on the old right foot. The mileage I quoted was for when...

How has your CAI + Tune affected your mileage?

I have an aFe CAI and a tune from Paul's High Performance that was in an SCT XCalibrator-2. It was an 87 octane tune. My gas mileage going back and forth to work stayed the same at 19-20 mpg. That's about 2/3 local streets and 1/3 freeway. The tune is not a race tune. But, they did a good...

    Cold air intake

The factory setup is actually a cold air intake. Air is taken in from a hole in the inside of the fender and it is insulated from engine heat the rest of the way up to the throttle body (plastic and rubber tubing). The problem with the stock setup is that it is meant to reduce noise so it has...

    Factory Tune buggy?

Which tuner are you using and who did your tune? Don't take this the wrong way, but maybe you might read over the instructions or call the guys who did the tune for help (I've done dopey things like not reading the instructions for the SCT Xcalibrator and having the thing not work).

New 2005 LLG GT with aFe CAI

I've had and aFe CAI in my '05 GT for about half a year now and it performs well. When I first put it in, it did not need a tune and it did make a good improvement. But, I then had Paul's High Performance set up an SCT Xcalibrator 2 with a regular gas tune taking advantage of the CAI. That...

brake fluid ate the paint off!!!!

I would recommend that you keep an eye on it. That is how mine started out. Just a little weep. But, my experience has been that a brake fluid reservoir should not leak or weep or anything. It should seal completely.

    Frame Rigidity

Don't know about Cobras, but I did have to add subframe connectors (welded) in my '96 GT. It did have a strut tower brace and extra lower braces since it was a 'vert. After installing the subframes it was pretty tight. But, my '05 'vert was significantly tighter than the '96 right out of...

brake fluid ate the paint off!!!!

I think there may be a fairly widespread problem with those plastic brake fluid reservoirs. Mine leaked too. First attempt by the dealer was to replace the cap, but that didn't work. I think the lip of the fill hole was not molded right from the supplier. They did have to replace the whole...
