    3.73 and t-lok

Theres definately a risk with used stuff and if its not too much more you'd be better off going new. You would need both parts for a 7.5 and the only thing you would need after the t-lok and gears should be available at the mechanic. This being the gear oil itself and the friction modifier. When...

    Heater not working

Mine blew cold when the thermo stuck open, but the car didn't get up to temp since I was driving all highway at the time. Let us know if removing the air works.

    Damn insurance rates.....

All of us sub-25-year-olds are screwed when it comes to insurance. Mine went from $120 a month to $75 when I got married and thats just liability. If I were to get a GT I had to pay on and full coverage.......

    power driver seat not working,help!!!

I thought about switching seats a while back, but the belt loop is gonna be on the wrong side if you do that. I took my drivers seat out to move it back a bit and you'd be able to check out the mechanism then. Also may want to look under and see if theres a floormat or somethin caught up in it...

    Ever seen one of these?

I can't imagine needing to have that many songs at any time. All the music I would ever need at once would fit on something way smaller than an ipod. I got myself a Sony MD player to use instead since it'll hold 5 hours a disc and those are like $2 a piece. Plenty of space for me and it cost $100.

will no mufflers hurt performance if i have pipes out the back

Your engine has to have something to push against (thus backpressure) in order to make torque efficiently. If you remove that backpressure, you lose the help you need. You can have too much backpressure, but a dual exhaust system on our cars seems to be your best bet as long as you have decent...

What rpm do you shift at?

When I dyno'ed mine the horsepower peaked a little over 3K and stayed fairly steady on through the apparently speed limited 4300ish. It definately began dipping after that, but not much. This meaning pre-99's have no need to go much past 4K for any reason. You may want to shift there so you end...

    Posi?

Its a neat thing to have, but other than needing it due to tirespin, its not a big deal. I actually believe it hurts in the snow (I eventually got a cheap 4x4 to use during winter months), but other than that it only helps. I think the best thing is TWO WHEEL BURNOUTS!

1996 Mustang... was it worth it?

I'm not tryin to start that or anything. I know people from work and in my family/friends' families that have old Ford trucks that are still going and we bought the wifes car from a used car lot that had an '89 Accord with 300K and still has the original motor and auto tranny in it. I'm not...

    385RWHP / 428RWTQ 00 V6 5spd stock motor my old TT kit

Would that be considered fairly mild and somewhat reliable? If you can build power like that and not worry about getting new rings or pistons every year or so I might start saving up for a TT kit :nice: (I'm assuming thats a '99+ car tho)

    Rear Differential problems

I could slide sideways a bit when I first got my shift kit and still had an open diff in the rain. A limited slip will only hurt you if you drive stupid in bad conditions. It does help traction tho as when going around corners in the rain, if a tires slips you can feel the other tire hook up and...

1996 Mustang... was it worth it?

I hate to say it, but I think the only thing Ford makes that lasts is their trucks. I wouldn't expect my Stang's factory parts to last too much past 100K, maybe 150K max before something major goes. I've already put another tranny and motor in tho, but I wouldn't have an original one with a...

    Replacing 3.8L...What to do?

If yer gonna have to pay someone to do the labor, its gonna be expensive any way you go. When we got the Jasper motor for mine, the install was about $700 which effectively doubles the cost of what you'd pay for a good, low mileage 3.8.

    Replacing 3.8L...What to do?

It depends on who can do the work. If by that figure you mean thats what a shop is gonna charge to fix whats wrong with it then you may not have many options other than maybe selling it as is for what you can get and using the cash as a down payment or somethin. If you can do it yourself then...

1997 Ford Mustang - Completly Dead! No power getting into the car! Battery is fine

That has happened to me (on another vehicle) where the positive terminal got so corroded it ate part of the connector. Cleaned both of em up and got a new one for positive and all was well. A friend of mine had a '98 Stang where one of the connectors was loose on the terminal and it would kinda...
