Roush Buy It Now 110,000 dollars, lol

As they say on Speed's coverage of Barrett-Jackson, "they're only original once." As for the $110K asking price, I guess it doesn't hurt to ask. Is it worth raking someone over the coals about? I guess to some people evidently it is. I say all the power to the guy!

    Roush Saleen Store Closing?

RSM Ford had no stake in The Saleen Store other than processing the transactions.

    Roush Saleen Store Closing?

While the Saleen Store has closed, Saleen Inc. is still producing cars in Troy and plans to for years to come. And while Molly is gone, Ryan Barker is back in Irvine's corporate office to make whatever contributions he can to the new team that is trying to think outside the box a little bit and...

    Roush saleen sleeper edition?

This is old news indeed, and first surfaced about the time Steve "retired." It makes sense that the vehicle in question is one of only 8 2007s since this program started late in the model year. While it may be one of 8, certainly it's just a GT with a supercharger, though someone has the...

Roush I'm sure you guys seen these, but nobody mentioned them yet

Interesting observation, Metalcop... you'll note that some eBay auctioners (not to name names) consistently set their lucrative auctions to the "User ID kept private" setting so that nobody can see who is bidding... I wonder... I wonder... could it be???

Roush I'm sure you guys seen these, but nobody mentioned them yet

My buddy davidj brings up some good points about eBay. It's obvious he's passionate about the topic -- I know I am. As a fairly frequent eBay peruser, I look at auctions like the ones below and I find them incredibly disturbing...

    What should i do?

Rather than a full repaint, you might consider locating a fender and hood from a parts car... the match would probably be better, and the cost could certainly be pretty close if you shopped long enough. Laser red was a popular color, so you've got that on your side.

    Cleaning aluminum intake

It depends on how rough it is -- you could try an aluminum polish such at Mothers, but you'll have to follow with a brush to clean the polish out of the nooks and crannies. But if it were polished already, then you could certainly use that, even with a PowerBall Mini. For a stock finish, I'd...

Getting rid of old dealers sins

Heating up lightly with a hair dryer might soften it enough to gently pry it off -- don't overdo it on the heat. Other than that, I'd probably try Goo Gone... of the goo-type solvents, it's the one I've had the best experience as far as being safe for paints and plastics.

    Detailing help

Which Mothers polish did you try? I'm also wondering if your polished pieces are clearcoated.

    Weather strip question

If you don't want to repaint, clean it good and use a couple of applications of Back-to-Black by Mothers... works good on satin paints (like wipers), rubber, plastic trim, etc.

Roush Noobie (Looking at some Saleens)

Hopefully some of the other guys will chime in. But you're talking about some attributes -- pros and cons if you will -- that may or may not be important to you. The Terminators have an IRS, but they have a simple look compared to the Saleens. The Saleens attract attention standing still...

Roush Noobie (Looking at some Saleens)

I won't pretend to try to guess a fair price -- on Saleens, a lot is emotional, condition, location, the potential that it was driven hard and put up wet, and any special history it might have. Others will have more input, as I don't really follow prices. One source for a frame of...

Roush Noobie (Looking at some Saleens)

Like Dennis said, pick up a copy of the Brad Bowling book -- you can get one from saleen.com, or from the Saleen Store in Irvine (they'll ship it to you) by calling 949-SALEEN1 for the new low price of $50. They're open Sun-Thurs, 10-9; Fri-Sat, 10-10 (PST). These were $99, but the price just...

Roush Saleen no longer offering factor tours

Yes, Bonnie's been handling the phones at Saleen for almost 10 years -- she's an incredibly sweet and lovely lady, but alas, she's probably a little too sophisticated for must of us "kids" who hang out here.

Alcohol or mineral spirits should work. Or if you have a non-acetone nail polish remover -- avoid the paint.

    zymol????

Mothers California Gold Pure Carnauba Wax is available in liquid or paste at many auto parts stores -- Checker carries the paste, which I really like.

    zymol????

The Zymol Cleaner Wax in the blue bottle is made by Turtle Wax (Chicago address on the label) is a licensed product from the makers of the overpriced premium waxes that come in fancy packaging. Zymol Cleaner Wax is available at places like Target for like 10 or 12 bucks and is a much different...

New wheels; what do you use to polish?

Assuming they're bare aluminum, I'd use PowerBall and PowerMetal polish from Mothers to clean them up initially. Wipe the polish off with a microfiber. If you think they'll polish up some more, flip the PowerBall around and use Mothers Billet Polish... should come out real nice.

    best products for rim cleaning?

I usually use waffle-weave microfiber for the body, and a wheel & Jamb towel for the nooks & crannies. I try to keep my body towels separate from my towels for lower panels and wheels to avoid cross-contamination (as well as grime). If I've done a quickie wash and haven't addressed the wheels...
