    If your not planning on doing any forced induction in the future, sure - NPI heads are fine with that setup, based on $ per HP gained.

    Bad alternator??

    Sounds like your alternator is shot, best bet would be to take it to your local auto part store, have them test it (it's free) to confirm. New alternators are a couple of hundred dollars.
