    what exactly does...

I may be wrong, but what about the IAC valve?

    What would cause this?

What else is it connected to? Does it bolt to the chassis?

    having conflictive interest....

I think it's because of the greater displacement and low-end torque. I had a 95 Z28 vert, and it just "felt" faster than my GT (both only had a K&N).

    Cold air vs Short Ram

Get a plastic CAI (fender-mounted filter) like Demolet, but make sure you get the TB and plenum.

    TB+Plenum

Sorry, that one slipped by me; we did not use the TB spacer.

    TB+Plenum

The noise is normal, or at least I hear the same noise in my brother's car. He has an automatic, and it was somewhat stonger down low, but it seemed to pull much harder up top. The only difference was that he had everything installed at once.

    extended use motor oil nonsense..

No, I didn't; I just visited the site, but didn't have much time to really check it out. My supervisor keeps walking by.

    extended use motor oil nonsense..

Thanks for the link; I've been meaning to look it up. My wife and I are starting to use it as well.

    extended use motor oil nonsense..

I'm pretty sure you won't see much engine wear on cars that have had oil/filter changes every 3000 miles, but I also believe you won't see much wear on engines that change it when it needs to be changed (lab tested). My father in law is a mechanic (actually, he works on Caterpillar engines)...

    Cold Air Intake

I was at Lackland; never left until I Palace Chased into the guard in 99. The Guard was great; our 2 week summer camp was at Hurlburt Field in FL (Fort Walton Beach); it was difficult duty, especially getting paid TDY. To keep from hijacking your thread: I must say that after evrything was...

    Cold Air Intake

Oh, go to Stangpro's website; it is very informative. He has dynoed much of what he sells, including the CAI (DeMolet Tunable Induction), plenum, and TB.

    Cold Air Intake

Get the full length; it replaces the entire tube (filter to TB). Again, for better gains, replace the plenum and TB; my brother just did that and I felt a big difference. I bought everything from Stangpro; he was excellent to deal with, but I don't know about shipping APO. Are you at Ramstein?

    Cold Air Intake

Tunable Induction (formerly Densecharger) makes a good CAI as well. If you're getting a CAI, you may as well replace the upper plenum and TB while you're at it. You will see a better HP/TQ increase. What sound should a CAI make? When my brother replaced his intake/TB/plenum, it makes a...

Wire boot won't stay on spark plug

Yeah, and make sure the metal collar is still in there; it may have come out (happened on my wife's Mitsubishi Galant).

    did inline resistor mod, pinging?

What octane fuel are you using? I am not certain if the increased resistance causes a lean condition or advances the timing (or both), but higher octane fuel might help. I installed a series resistor on my previous vehicle (Ford ZX2), and it ran OK for a while; it may have made it slightly...

    Brake rotors warped again

How often do you brake hard? Also, do you drive through water after braking hard? Don't laugh, but when I was 17, I drove my Dodge Spirit like it was a Mustang, and I braked hard once (or many times) too often and my rotors were actually cracked in many places. I was told that it was because...
