Any advantage to a 93 cobra engine??

Both the heads and intake are comparable to the cobra stuff; in fact, the GT40P heads on the explorer motor are probably a bit better (untouched) than the cobra GT40's. Combine this with the fact that they can be found very cheap, it has made them pretty popular.

    RNH Performance???

FWIW I bought some of Rick's stainless torque box reinforcements about 4 years ago over the phone. Real nice guy to deal with.

    3.73 gears too much?

If you know your tire height, gear ratio, and RPM, you can calculate what speed you are running at various RPM's by plugging in some different RPM numbers. If I had the formula, I'd give it to you......but I don't :D

    3.73 gears too much?

Then either you don't have 3.73's, your tach or speedo are way off, or you have an overdrive transmission and don't know it

    what spring compressor?

I compressed mine outside of the car, put heavy cable/clamps in three spots to hold the spring in a compressed state, slid them in (one side at a time) jacked the control arm up until it was tight, then undid the clamps. Probably not remotely safe, but it sure was easy :D

I am prolly going to get bashed

I'll give you an 'A' for ingenuity, but an 'F' for how this would actually look in a fox. Next you'll be putting air-ride seats out of a Peterbilt in the thing........

    busted cats

If it's the 4.6 that has the 02's before AND after the cats, you will have problems. I think there might be a way around it though? May want to check around on a crown vic forum, or post over in the modular section on this site.

Another Nice Day Cleaned the Stang Thread

I'm pretty sure his car is built out of stainless or something........that or he keeps a monkey in the hatch that hops out and details the car after each drive he takes in the winter. I haven't quite figured it out yet myself. Oh, and the car is still lookin' great man :D

school me on "a good set" heads, intake.Street car

The stock cam is not going to slow you down as much as you'd think with that combo. Car Craft did a pretty infamous build of a roller-302 (5.0) with a stock HO cam, the older AFR 165's, and an eddy peformer intake (carb) and made close to or above 400 fwhp. That's of course with no...

    anyone with this setup?

That should be just fine I would think. I'm guessing your tensioner alignment is what's causing the belt to run off; that or maybe it's just not out far enough. Try stacking and equal amount of washers under all mounting points of the tensioner, bolt it back down, and see what happens?

    How to adjust the idle?

Guess I should have read your original post better. There has to be an adjustment on the cable I'd think? If you can't get the cable to close the throttle all of the way, you'll never have a consistent idle.

    anyone with this setup?

How far did you have to move the tensioner to slip the belt on? Ideally, you would want the tensioner to probably be pulled back around half of it's travel (just a guess here) with the belt on. My car is in storage, so I have nothing to reference. Did you just install the smog elim. kit...

    How to adjust the idle?

Sounds like maybe your return spring is maybe a bit weak. Do you have a newer dual-spring type return? That or the shaft running through your carb that operates the butterflies is pretty gummed up.

    anyone with this setup?

To me, that would signal that the belt is either to big, or you have an alignment issue with the smog eliminator. How far do you have to push the tensioner back to get the belt on?

    Cam Selection

Yeah, I see that the XE-270 has an extra 8* duration on both sides. It seems to be a pretty popular cam among guys running a 302/306 though.

    How to adjust the idle?

My guess is that you might have an issue with your IAC (idle air control) motor, or maybe even a vacuum leak. Unless you have been able to physically confirm that your throttle linkage is sticking, it's probably not the problem.
