    What to do first?!

I'm going from memory here fazm83 but IIRC it produced 138ft/lb, admittedly lower than the stang but that's what I'd expect from a 4 cylinder engine. Yes the compression ratio was 10.5:1 & yes the UK does use higher octane fuel 95 standard & 98 octane is commonly available (not that it makes...

    What to do first?!

When money allows I will change the wheels but my 1st concern was how hard the engine had to rev before it changed up a gear on the autobox  . Getting onto the highway from a standing start (something I do every day as I have to cross a divided highway to go north to the nearest town) the...

    Photoshop help for painted mirrors

I'm with turrizt on this one. I can't believe that it's not factory standard. In the UK & Europe a new car without color keyed door mirrors is deemed a poverty spec car! It's on my list of things to do - though I may leave the triangular section black & paint the rest. If you go ahead &...

    Is This A Dumb Idea?

Jenn, only you can make the choice - it's your car, what does it matter what we think? If it's any consolation I understood what the plate was saying. Mine is MGNUT which confuses the heck out of people until I explain that my plate in the UK was/is MG52NUT & was worn of my '03 MG TF (MG...

Painted My Door Sill Letters Today

I need to get a small paint brush to touch up a paint defect. The paint had blobbed near the bottom of the drivers door & the dealer wanted to respray the door & the rear quarter panel - I'm of the opinion that a respray is never as good as a factory paint job & if I ever traded it in people...

    Thinking of ordering an '06

Sounds nice Jon. My vert is Sonic Blue, I'm toying with putting white stripes on in the near future - I'll photoshop it first to see if I like it, though I keep seeing a GT Coupe with that setup & I still like that.

    iPod for Mustang?

I've got an IRiver FM transmitter hooked up to my MP3 player - I find that I can't get it as loud as a direct source (eg. CD) without distortion. I'd also be interested to know if an MP3 can be hooked up via the Aux input on the Shaker 500 system.

    What to do first?!

Not a major mod by any means but...the 1st (& so far only) thing I've done is drop in a K&N panel air filter. For sure it doesn't give much of a power increase but it does seem to make the engine smoother.

    Thinking of ordering an '06

Welcome to the board Jon. I've just changed my '05 V6 Coupe for an '05 V6 Convertible (no worries for headroom there ;-) ). I'm 6'2" & had loads of room in the coupe - then I do tend to have the seat fairly laid back (I had loads of headroom in an MGB GT that way) - I found that I could even...

    V6 convertible rattles and vibration

I've just changed my '05 Coupe to a vert. No such problems as yours. I've had all sorts of convertibles over the past 12 years (mainly MG's, old & new) & none had this kind of issue. For sure you can expect a noticeable difference in the chassis stiffness (or at least you should be able to)...

    UD pullies for V6?

Thanks Kim. The information I'd got was from one of the parts guys - nice guy but he didn't know the grille was a different size until I bought one & tried to fit it (hadn't discovered this forum at that point). Steve

    Conv w/ stripes?

Don't have a pic either. Why not just photoshop (or similar) a picture of your car to see what it'd look like. I've done it for my coupe as I can't decide whether to just leave or add silver or white or slightly darker blue stripes.

    New to the fold

Hi stang dreamer, sorry but now there's 2 limeys on the board :) . Are you still in the UK? The '05 stang is a nice drive - well suited to the straight, long, long roads around here. I thought I'd do a comparison against the car I had in the UK (2003 MG TF :hail2: - for those not...

    UD pullies for V6?

Sorry to go back to the fascia thing again but my dealer has told me that the mounting points for front & rear are different on the GT & V6. Kim, any chance you could copy & paste that thread onto here to save us all searching it out? Thanks, Steve
