    '65 Roof Rail seals

I took the seal retaining channel off the car also, but that was really only to facilitate painting, you might be able to just pull the old rubber out and leave the channel attached to the car. I found that there was some hardened sealant in the channels that needed cleaning before the new...

    '65 Roof Rail seals

I hadn't thought of 3M, thanks for the suggestion. Did you use a continuous strip to hold the rubber to the channel, or just a few pieces along it's length?

    '65 Roof Rail seals

Hi all. The jigsaw puzzle that is my Mustang is finally being pieced back together. I've reassembled the rear 1/4 window assemblies today, which actually went together easier than I remember them coming apart. I have one question regarding the roof rail seals. I have used Sikaflex to seal...

    Engine tilt question?

Yeah, some aftermarket manifolds are different. The stock setup (at least on mine) is level.

    POR-15 failure...

Well, that'll be good if it works, saves a lot of work. I'm sure I read somewhere that once it dries the only way to remove it is mechanically. No solvent/stripper should be able to attack it.

    What size fuel line

Yes, as you can probably tell by the roughness it was hand formed (with the aid of a dodgy bender). I'm fabbing an aluminium tank so return/pickups will be built into it. I'm hoping to eventually go with fuel injection so i'm building a surge tank within the main tank. The return line will feed...

    Engine tilt question?

I always thought it was 4°, but in most cases it's whatever angle that causes your carby pad to be dead level. As long as the diff pinion is set to the same angle.

    POR-15 failure...

Get ready to be dissapointed because: will not get it off. Just redo the areas that have failed. Is it under the car or inside? (or both??)

What is this in the passenger dash pod?

Howdy, long time no speak. (been busy with other things). My father and I landed a '65 and a '66 in December '99 (still not on the road :bang: ), bought from a father and son in Yakima. I got the T-code '65 and dad, the C-code '66. They cost about 5K each to transport (plus a mountain of...

    What size fuel line

I dug up This site a while ago and it seems to have some good info. Very good explanation about the different types of regulators also. Personally, I'll be running 3/8" supply and return line and a 5/16" breather (tank to carbon cannister) For holding it onto the car I found a late model...

    Paint

Enamel - usually harder, tougher finish that doesn't require buffing - gloss finish off the gun. (I'm not even sure if it can be cut and polished successfully). It needs a longer drying time so a booth is almost a must for a great finish. Usually can't be easily repaired as spraying a small area...

Can I lend my car to auto shop classes for repairs?

A University friend of mine did that once. Got a really good job out of it. Personally, I probably wouldn't do it.

    Head Gasket Installation

We've mostly used silver frost paint, both on the head and the block. I think it's like an epoxy base with miniature aluminium flakes as the colourant. Theory being that it fills up any minor imperfections in the head/block. A few years ago I completely rebuilt my Falcon 6 and for some reason...

    The SN65 project car

Hi SN65, congratulations on such an excellent project. I only wish I had the time, talent and tools to pull off a job like that. Just one comment on the bonnet. I noticed that the bonnet you are using has pin holes in the front. Are you planning on leaving these as is, filling them or replacing...

    Removing leaf springs

Well, um... Good Luck! This particular job took me quite a few hours as the front eye bolt on mine hadn't ever been removed before. Rusted solid. I ended up making a press from a huge G-clamp and a disused socket and some other lengths of pipe for leverage on the G-Clamp. Here's what I...

    header heat wrap

100% agree. Don't do it if you value your headers! If you're worried about heat inside the cabin, get some insulation for inside. This ia an Australian brochure but I'm sure you can find something like it locally. A Stainless Steel heat shield between the pipes and the floor help also.

    Torque Strap ideas?

Probably not strong enough for the serious racer, but for my application I think it should suffice. We'll see!...

    Torque Strap ideas?

I thought i'd bump this thread up as I meant to post this a few weeks ago but only finally got around to taking a pic yesterday. There's locknuts still to go on the end (the motor's only in a trolley for the time being). Got no idea if it will work - time will tell :D

Out of all the rack kits, does anyone make one right?

Sorry, I can't help you there. Send them an email, they'll probably let you know. They seem to be pretty knowledgable in business and as a major market for them is the USA I'd be guessing it's a worldwide patent, but i couldn't say for sure.
