    Headliner/Winsheild Questions

Haven't done it, but i'm told you start at the rear bow and work your way forward. Sikaflex make a specailist windscreen adhesive, probably a sealer as well. Heaps

    65 dash pad fit on a 66 ?

looks like you're right. I've just checked back through my archives. My father's got a '66 and mine's a '65. I just checked his dash and it appears that there are extra holes on the outer edges, apart from that the holes in the centre are the same, just elongated. (A good idea now that I...

    Intake experts: PCV issue (long)

The one from the rocker cover to the manifold should be seeing full vacuum. The other "Breather" side is stuck into the air cleaner so that you're pulling filtered air into the engine. Some setups I've seen use a catch tank in between the manifold and the rocker cover, and a drain back to the...

    65 dash pad fit on a 66 ?

I'm not sure about the holes, both the '65 and '66 have 2 bolts protruding from the dashpad to bolt to the dash. The '65 also has chrome trim strps around the instrument cluster and glovebox. Here's some pics: 65: 66:

    tremec 5spd help

Put the car up on screw type jack stands and level the rocker panels/chassis rails. The carb pad should now be adjusted to be perfectly level. My engine angle (measured at the gearbox extension end) worked out to be 4 degrees with the carb pad level. (I made a simple plumb-bob gauge to measure...

I don't think it is possible to make wheels that look better then these

These are ROH RT's in 16x7 (Although the front suspension is not Mustang so I'm not sure what backspacing you'd need) The colour is called Shadow Chrome.

    302 Intake on 289 engine?

Should be OK. The 289 & 302 are the same topside. If you have 351 heads on a 302 (or 289) then they require a different gasket as the front water passage is different. It'd pay to get a phenolic spacer for the carb, keeps some heat away. You'll obviously also need an air cleaner base to...

    Differences between 65 & 68 289 engine?

The screw in studs were only factory in the K-Code motors. The 289's were only offered in base trim, high performance engines in '68 were focused on the bigger displacement blocks. Have a look on the block and the heads (remove the rocker covers) and post the casting codes (cast-in numbers)...

the voltemeter guauge is the most useless guage ever

Which is why you MUST have a low oil pressure light also. A technique sometimes used in the racing fraternity is to set all you analog gauges so that the needle is vertical when all is OK. Looks a bit weird with your gauges all over the place, but a very quick glance will tell you if anything...

    Need New horns

Here's a thought. Take a trip to your local car 2nd hand car sales yard (fairly modern cars of course) and blast away until you find something you like. Take note of the make/model and then take a trip to your local wrecker's. Find the same car and you'll probably pick up a pair for 5 or 10...

the voltemeter guauge is the most useless guage ever

If you can see that happening then your engine's as good as dead anyway!

the voltemeter guauge is the most useless guage ever

One on the way back from the coast one day (2hr trip) I noticed the volmeter dropped back to 12V. I stopped to check things out, nothing else was amiss so I made sure I turned off everything non-essential and made it home. If I didn't have a v/m I probably would have shut down on the side of the...

    Ordered my G-force tranny

A friend of mine was running a T5 behind his 4litre Falcon 6 in the Australian Rally Championship a few years ago and was forever killing third gear. Also there's a class of circuit racing here that uses them, initially with many problems. The problem is apparently caused when the casing...

braided steel flex hose and AN fittings

I've been doing some research for my own fuel system recently, these sites migth be of some help: For Fuel line and pump sizing as well as return vs dead-head regulators: http://www.centuryperformance.com/fuel.asp I've got one of these for brake lines, they're expensive (if you live here...

A Watts Link like mine on the market for $600 - Nice stuff

I've always considered one of these type of setups for my '65, but i'd use a system the same as my current Falcon has, with the pivot (propellor?) welded to the diff centre and brackets welded or bolted to the chassis rails. Is there really any benefit for a Watts Link on a Leaf Spring rear...

    Bad main bearing symptoms

How's your oil pressure? Bad mains will leak a lot and reduce pressure, a spun bearing, although I've never actually heard one, is an apparently very obvious noise. An off-tune sound might be it not running on 8 cyls

I'll try again!!! 5.4 (mod, no 331 pushrod strokers)

I agree. Ok for a trailer Queen, but far from ideal for road racing. Here's the RRS webpage outlining the notch kit that can be used with their struts. They say it'll make it possible to fit the Mod motor into the '65/6 size frame. Mustang & Fords ran a cover story a couple of years ago...
