    Sanding advice needed

Bare Metal...that way you will find all the body work that may be "hidden" With that much paint on the car have you tried using a razor blade to remove the paint? Mine had about the same amount of paint on it and the old paint flew right off down to the original primer....me and my friend had...

    rocker stripe dimensions

Nah, if i had the rocker chrome then yes....but that car is SO black, it needs something to break it up and I think that wider stripe will look better, plus I want to get the stripe to say something (not sure what yet) where the GT 350 normally goes. Any suggestions? I Thought about putting...

    rocker stripe dimensions

Im aware that the originals were decals...I am going to have a custom decal made for my 67 coupe, I just laid down some black this past weekend and it needs a little something to break it up. If you would please measure that stripe I would appreciate it, I have a decal guy that can make me one...

4 Hole Carb Spacer on Vic Jr. on 408W Stroker

If anything probably make things worse...you need to ditch that victor jr. (great drag racing intake) and go for a torker II or a high rise dual plane intake. I had a torker II on my small block camaro that I drove around on the street a lot....it did well. Also whatever camshaft you have will...

Eleanor body kit on a 68 Coupe

I plan on doing a thread on here when the car is finished....its in primer right now, hopefully getting painted either this weekend or next, all of the metal/fiberglass work has been done, and it has been blocked 3 times...I trimmed the car out last weekend, the areas covered by the fenders...

I have spent the last 12 years helping the classic Mustang community and...

@ Noobz347....I have gotten tons of info from Dazes site, he has a wonderful library of knowledge, especially with mustang modifications. His "How-to" writeups have saved me lots of time and cash, and I'm sure there are many many more on this site that have had that same experience....you got my...

    1968 DOHC 4.6 Coupe Project

Love the shaved cowl....my 67 is hopefully getting some paint this weekend as well, it has some of the features of your 68 there, except for that bad-ass suspension you got, and those other subtle tricks you did to the car. The shaved drip rails are slick too. I caught hell for shaving my cowl...

Eleanor body kit on a 68 Coupe

Well it is close to Halloween....old threads rising from the dead isn't that strange....good looking coupe there, I like the eleanor look on them as well, I am doing the cs trunk and shelby hood on my 67, gives the car a little more "muscle" as far as the looks go IMO.

    67 Mustang Drum Brake Question

Drums do generally have less parasitic drag than discs...and 2+2 does have a valid point that properly adjusted drums work very well....but its a lot of moving parts, springs, tensioners, adjusters, what have you....discs are simple and no adjustment necessary.

    67 Mustang Drum Brake Question

I just want to repeat what everyone else has said...i had 4 wheel drums on my 67 and upgraded to front disc.....and it was night and day difference, then I had another free weekend and put the power brake booster on it....again another dramatic leap in the braking of my car. If its just a 67...

    8.8 rear end swap

I guess that just depends on what you wanted out of your rear, im not ever going to road race my car, so the factory rear drums are more than adequate. I guess it just depends also on what 8.8 you find...if you find one with some desirable gears and limited slip and could get it for a couple...

    Brakes

Is there a hissing or whooshing sound when you press the pedal to the floor with the booster hooked up? if so you may have a bad booster, i know you said its new, but it happens. Also test your check valve on the booster, it may be bad.

    flexplate difference

If im not mistaken......the later 302 engines (after 1981) used 50 oz imbalance flexplates....previous 289 & 302's used a 28 oz flexplate.....it depends really on the crankshaft, but if you know your engine came out of anything after 1981 you should need the 50 oz.

Putting emblems on aftermarket hood? Can?

Ahh....my bad, i didnt realize you were running a FI 5.0 engine. With all the power adders you will possibly need a new fuel pump and bigger injectors, but im no FI wiz.....but you can still port match the intake runners to the heads and get 10 free horsepower. A set of AFR 165 heads, maybe and...

Putting emblems on aftermarket hood? Can?

+1 to what 2+2 just said...there is a lot you can do to stock components and have your engine really produce some serious horses. Porting and polishing those stock heads is a great horsepower builder, then getting a nice 285d 510 lift cam or something in that area. Port match a 4bbl intake, put...

Putting emblems on aftermarket hood? Can?

You could spend 2500 bucks and stick a supercharger on your car and give it aroudn 350 horses as is, with some tuning of course and premium gasoline....but the problem is your platform. You need some new heads, intake, and a camshaft all working in harmony to give you the proper airflow through...

Putting emblems on aftermarket hood? Can?

Dude....from what i read in your first post, that whole never getting the knack for mechanics bit, you might want to get the knack of it before you undertake building a blown small block to put in a car that already gets squirley when you throw 300 horses at it... IMO...the disc brakes are a...

    8.8 rear end swap

Ok...good move then...a lot of people want to swap out an 8" for an 8.8 and unless you are grunting out over 400 horses and beating it to death every weekend at the track, the 8" should hold up fine....but surely someone on here will be able to help you out with that info....unfortunately thats...
