    Fox Foxtoberfest 2025: Registration open!

There's lots of choices on the site. Gildan Ultra Cotton and Gildan 100% Cotton have been used for our company swag for the last few years and have been comfortable choices to wear. I'm open to other options as well. I'd probably be in for 5-6 shirts.

    79-86 mustang 81 t-top coupe v8 car

Welcome to StangNet! The '81 looks nice! Some satin black mirrors would look awesome on it. I missed the pictures of the t-tops in the coupe. Feel free to post more pictures.

Fox Wifes 1993 LX 5.0 dies after replacing ignition parts

Just curious, why did you change these parts? Were you trying to resolve a problem? Do you still have the parts that you took off? My first thought is to put the TFI that you took off back on and see if that solves the current problem.

    Fox Foxtoberfest 2025: Registration open!

Color me interested and it could finally be the year to make this happen. As a spectator of course. The stang is no closer to running than it was last year (or the last 20 years if I'm being honest), but I do have vacation time & airline miles available. It sure would be cool to see all of the...

Engine What’s your preferred way to clean engine parts prior to assembly?

I used Boeshield T9 to coat everything last time I had an engine open. It stayed open for 3 full months this spring with no difference in surface degradation. I've been using it to coat the cast iron on all my woodworking equipment for the last year with excellent results. It lasts a long...

Electrical What Year Fox HVAC boxes interchange?

I think that 79-83 are a direct swap. The color of the backlighting changed to red in 1984. Not sure if the later controls can be modified to work

Drivetrain 4R70W clutch friction/metals/piston set up questions for transmission guru

Read up on Silverfox performance transmission. Dan is a great guy and and AOD / 4R70 specialist. He has provided a lot of parts, published a lot of how to information, and participated in a lot of the Ford vehicle forums over the years. I believe that he was a participant in this forum in years...

Wheels-Tires 10 Hole Rim Restore options?

For maintenance free care apply a good quality automotive clear. Otherwise, there are a variety of great aluminum polishes or waxes that will keep them looking good that will require reapplication at various intervals. I spent a lot of time on the factory Alcoa style rims on my old F150...

    Engine Reusing water pump bolts?

Having had these bolts break off in the past I will always get new ones if they are the least bit compromised. The real issue in my case was corrosion with only a little rust. New bolts is an easy choice.

Drivetrain AOD install - issue lining up TC studs to Flexplate holes

I tossed a handful of them recently when I hauled an AOD to the core buyer. I don't remember the thread size / pitch but they sure are easy to round off.

Drivetrain AOD install - issue lining up TC studs to Flexplate holes

Glad that you got it in. Prior to installation did you press in on the TC (toward the rear) while rotating the TC until you got 3 clicks from it? This should seat the TC just over an inch deep into the bell housing and onto the front pump. This video shows the procedure. Watch from 3 minutes...
