    Those WRXs can be fast!

    IBTL! Edit: You can build the motor in those cars pretty easily, including making it a stroker. Big turbos aren't out of the question either (GT 35R for example would make big time power).

    I pay for the car stuff, not my parents. I work a part time job at school for just barely minimum wage. I have some help from the parents for food, rent, etc.....but the anything "fun" I pay for myself. Like I said, this is going to be a year or three in the making, I'm just trying to start now...

    Realistically, I'd like anything over 450 to the wheels. I'd also prefer to keep it fuel injected. I don't even know the norms/limits of the stock 351w block. It's not going to be a daily driver after college, but I'll still want it to be within the realm of a tame weekend driver.

I realize that a solid roller 347 can make monstrous power (our Shelby does), but I want to stay on pump gas with medium compression, and a hydraulic cam if at all...

    Help me build my 450 hp n/a 302

    Our 66 Shelby runs Canfield state 2 heads, and is stroked as well (past 347), and running a solid cam, and 14.5:1 compression it's made 485 or so to the crank. Look at either Canfields or some big AFRs.

    I'd have to say that this thread is not representative of the real world. I see FAR more Shelbys out on the road and at the majority of South and Central FL car shows that I attend than I see any of the Boss cars.
