    Free Play Rear end??

Yes, I agree... however, I have balanced my wheels a few times since then, did not make any difference, even with new tires. I've replaced the harmonic balancer cuz the rubber was coming out, but it didn't make any difference... that's why I am focusing on my driveshaft. I took a look today...

Vibration Great... thanks for the explaination. Looks like I'd need to replace the driveshaft - been getting slight, but noticable vibration at certain rpms, especially around 1500 while driving.

    Free Play Rear end??

My 94 rear-end has about 1/8" free play at the rear end yoke (driveshaft) and about 3/8" free play at the tires. Is this normal? It currently has 111K miles - has 2.73 limited slip. I don't have any expierence with rear ends - I seem to remember tech articles about installing gears and...

    Fastest vintage stang?

http://www.geocities.com/eskoufos/shelbyfaq.html - has anyone seen this? Even though the 1/4 times isn't quite complete on all Shelbys, but it does incidate that 65 GT350R with 289 4V, 350 hp ran 12.9 @ 110 mph - I think GT350R is the racing version?

    9" Rear Axle

Are you sure? I thought they are supposed to be real tight tolerance, not allowing much play?

    9" Rear Axle

I have observed that rotating the driveshaft about 1/8" in either direction before the tires move. Is that too much play? Is it time to replace or re-built the 3rd member?

    Need Some help... I'm Overheating

To make sure your head gasket isn't blown, check your oil dipstick for traces of coolant/water. Also, other way to check, let engine cool down, with cap off, fill up the raditor and then run and let it warm... watch for bubbles in the raditor which could also incidate blown gasket.

    Gear ratio advice

Just press on gas and hold brakes while you have the auto trans in drive - make a note of rpm where the rear wheels start spinning, if it spins below 2,000 rpm, then it's likely stock converter.

Do you use your classic as your daily driver? Pros and Cons?

Ever since my 68 Mustang got new paint - I don't even park it in the store parking lots anymore... I do drive it a few times a week to work, I am fortunate to have a half empty parking spaces at work, so I can at least park it away from other cars. I don't even take it out in the rain at all -...

Yup, I agree with everyone - keep the 351C and like s-code says, upgrade to 4 barrel intake & carb. You won't regret it.

    Pertronix Ignition

I have Pertronix II in Ford dizzy for 15 months - no problems so far. If you are wary of Pertronix, you could try Crane's XR-1 Points to Electronic Ignition converter. Summit carrys them. If the money is not the issue, I would go for MSD system.

    Problems after Msd install

I agree with GaPonyFarm - could be either bad connection with MSD ignition system or timing issue.
