    KB 2.1 on '03 GT

Stock displacement cars with Full bolton, trickflow heads, cams, and high compression usually make 330ish up to 340ish rwhp. Flat top pistons could be giving you 11:1 or 12:1 compression depending on heads / depending on pistons. It is your motor. If he has his own machine shop he should be...

    BOOST ON PI HEADS?

This. Old school teaching was to be scared of higher compression mixed with boost. This has been proven wrong by multiple setups. Get a good Dyno tune and you will be fine. Higher compression can help with low end and will give you gains across the powerband with the right mix of components.

    Drill the fuel pump basket?

I’m running a 290lph fuel pump - just dropped the TU-229 HP in, no other mods. I contemplated drilling holes - wasn’t convinced that stories of “baskets getting sucked dry” were true for stock bottom end power levels. My 290lph pump gets to 85% duty cycle at redline on my gauges. Drilling...

    Build thought

I’d do your flavor of forced induction first (supercharger or turbocharger). The delimma is that a forged rods / piston / crank will make the same power you have now but cost you several thousand dollars. The stock motor can support 400rwhp - why not add 100 rwhp now by adding some boost for...

Need help with HP on New Edge Stang

You already have the fuel system installed - time for some boost. Tuner supercharger kits typically go for 3-4K. Save for a supercharger - Can’t beat the drivability and hp. If you don’t want to wait there is a long list of great suspension upgrades that improve how the car handles immensely.

    Power gains

Current boltons- ~250-260 rwhp With a mild cam- ~280 rwhp Better idea (instead of a set of cams): With a blower- ~400rwhp

2003 GT Vert - Rear end noise

Turning at low speeds (sharper turns) really exposes differential issues because the rear wheels are traveling at different speeds due to the turn, making your ford traction-LOK differential work. You should check your brakes and tire first because those are easy fixes - they are most likely...

1996 Built GT new BOV and PMAS MAF not idling

I’m assuming you are running a BOV like this one: http://www.tialsport.com/index.php/tial-products/bovs/46-tialbvq You need to run the lower supercharger spring (2psi). The higher springs are meant for turbochargers. The lower spring psi should help leak off that excess pressure and smooth...

    96 Mustang Performance Issue

4.10’s should be ideal for 1/4 mile on a near stock 96 GT auto. You should be in the thick of 4th gear at the end. First thing I would do is basic maintenance and running down what the issue is that you are throwing codes. O2 codes can be non specific and represent tons of possible issues...

    2001 Mustang GT Steering Loose

Nice. Adding some MM aluminum steering rack bushings really complements their steering shaft to get your steering tight.

High revs before shifting, need a tuner?

Some hanging is normal while driving is normal but it should be hardly noticeable. Go back to the basics and try wmburns’ list below - the hanging idle has similar causes to various idling issues...

    1st 4.6

Both 2nd and third are great gears. I found I was getting too much slippage in second gear so I spent the money on excellent tires - fixed 2nd gear. Almost every lowering spring will benefit from aftermarket CC plates. Stock plates don’t offer the range of adjustment and you might not be able...

    Ideas for new ride

    1. Can I add a supercharger with the stock internals? Any supporting mods that are mandatory if I do this? Yes. You just need to upgrade your fuel pump (or buy a boost a pump) and bigger fuel injectors (at least 39 lbs). A dyno tune is strongly recommended. 2. How much HP can I expect to...

Advice on 4.6 500 hp build

I agree with sluggie and mods01gt above. Your stock crank is not the limiting factor. Don’t dig in to your motor yet. Buy a blower or turbo first, much cheaper than buying a new car- with your compression ratio and heads you should be easily in the mid 400 rwhp range with about 9psi on a safe...

    4.6 2v Intake advice

Depends on what your long term goals are. If your plan is to never have a top mount blower then the trickflow intake (street burner, not the track heat version) with a 75mm TB would provide the most power gains but it is much more costly. As far as bang per buck the intake is a pricy item for...

    2003 cobra 4.6 supercharger roation

The Procharger kits usually like to be described as a ‘shared’ pulley system versus a ‘dedicated’ pulley system. All the street 4v kits for both the 96-98 and 03 cobras are shared pulley systems (supercharger in front of accessory belt on passenger side). Your supercharger should fit but you...

    New member/ intake spacer

Throttle body spacers can work on some older cars (1960’s / 1970’s) if the intake / fuel configuration needs more time for air and fuel to mix properly. This is not an issue for the SN95 (including your Mach 1). Adding more length to the intake track is not desired. Don’t get tricked by...

    Headers or no?

Definitely do the cat back. I’d wait on the midpipe. The best time to do a midpipe is when you do the headers so that they match. If you do them separately you are going to have to cut your midpipe to custom fit it to your long tubes. Better to buy a midpipe that is already the right length...

    Coil spring

I did isolators. I installed most of my own suspension and scheduled an alignment same day after any big change.

    Coil spring

Your springs should settle after about 10 miles of driving enough to take accurate measurements. Measurements to check: 1) check tire pressures and make them even (and set them to the pressure on your driver door sticker) 2) Are your wheels and tires the same height all four corners? Same...
