    Gas mileage help

Does your car feel like it has a miss? Smells rich? A good tune up usually solves poor gas mileage; if you use seafoam, just be sure to run it through the system BEFORE you change your spark plugs. I fouled 2 plugs when I used it last time.

    New FR500s on the Stang!

285s were the widest AmericanMuscle had to offer in a non-drag radial tire...... but thanks?

    New FR500s on the Stang!

18x9s with Sumitomo 265/35r18s in the front 18x10 with Sumitomo 285/35r18s in the rear Bought them from Americanmuscle.com, I ended up getting a decent deal. I really like the hypercoated look... they have a nice shine in the direct sunlight, but look almost gunmetal at dusk. What do you...

    4.10s in and whining!

The Stang is back from the dealership - $1300 later, the rearend is silent. Time to start seeking repayment from this turdstick. I'll post up pictures later of some of the destroyed parts the Ford Tech pulled out (I had him place all the old parts in a box for me).

    Getting 4.10s soon...expectations?

After going for my first run with 4.10s (coming from 2.73s), I had to go home and change my underwear. I recommend equipping a pair of Depends before your test drive. Also, if you are on stock-style tires (17x8s) don't count on getting traction. Even my slow NPI GT will bake the tires through...

New wheels - new Speedcal settings needed?

 OK you've independently confirmed the math I did. I won't bother looking for new dipswitch settings then. Thanks!

New wheels - new Speedcal settings needed?

I just bought new 18" FR500s, with 285/35r18s for the back. My old stock tires are 245/45r17s. I've worked out the overall tire height New: 285/35r18 = 25.85" tall (((285mm*0.35)*2)/25.4(mm/inch) = 25.85") Old: 245/45r17 = 25.68" tall That is a little less than 3/16" or 0.66% increase in...

Shifter becomes stiff after long highway drive

Well, I'm getting a clutch put in today @ Ford (I am no longer taking chances on small time mechanics after my gear install was botched twice). The tech that's working on the car is a Stanger and he knows his stuff. Turns out that the shop that did my trans fluid change a few thousand miles...

    4.10s in and whining!

That is very nice of you to say! I don't know what the problem is, I just know it makes my otherwise mint condition Stang sound like a clunker!!

2004 Mustang GT - Shocks and Struts

Bilsteins on my stock ride height 98 GT. I had them on my 2" dropped 97 GT as well. Both sets were purchased on eBay for a price much lower than I could find on any of the big name mustang sites.

    Bullit brake upgrade question??

you could get plain Brembo vented rotors, which is what my Bullitt kit came with. Tirerack has rotors pretty cheap most of the time, take a look there.

    4.10s in and whining!

Just when I thought it was over... the rear end sounds horrible when I take corners! Much worse than clutch chatter... binding, popping, moaning and groaning, this thing has it all. The good news is that I found a Ford dealership near by that has a Mustang guy working there. I spoke with him...

Bullitt front brake kit - price disparity

I see now that Buyfordracing.com has discontinued the kit I purchased. I got rotors, pads and calipers for $299, plus stainless brakelines for $50 extra. At the time, americanmuscle.com wanted about $700 for the same kit, so I really got a steal!

Shifter becomes stiff after long highway drive

Time to revive this thread. The condition I am referring to is not the inherent stiffness of the MGW shifter, but rather the fact that it gets harder and harder to move as I drive the car for an extended period of time. I was wondering if that is normal for these shifters, or if I should be...

Who uses premium gas in their 2v 4.6?

When I fill my car up with Shell 87octane in Massachusetts, it runs fantastic. When I get back to NY and have to use gas from ANY station out here, it runs worse. I'm not impressed by the quality of Mobil gasolines, but where I am, my only choices are Hess, Mobil, Sunoco or Stewart's Shops...

    I know...it's not a stang

When is the last time it had a full tune up? Distributor cap & rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter change, etc? That might help with the rough running. If the O2 sensors are original, then it is possible they are worn out. Pull one out and inspect it, maybe post a picture here. Sorry that's...
