    4.10s!!!

4.10s are awesome, I am glad I didn't fear the gear! Side note - is your speedo correct? My T-45 tachs ~2600 at 70mph with a 0.67:1 OD ratio. Does your TR3650 have the 0.62 5th gear? If so, then your RPM/Speed makes sense to me.

    wats up guys!

A guy around where I used to live had the same truck, and had a custom X-pipe on it. Sounded heavenly, especially when he would ride out gears with the 5 speed

    Spark Plugs, Beam Torque Wrench?

Given all the plug blow outs you read about, in my eyes it pays to know that I have truly hit the correct torque spec, and I wouldn't say it adds much complication to the procedure. All I do is pull off the plug wire, blow out the well with compressed air, take out the old, start the new plug...

    Another Detailed my DD Thread!

Nice Jeep man. I love my Grand Cherokee in the snow, and the 4.0L isn't too horrible on gas, although slightly underpowered for the size of the vehicle. In the Cherokee and Wranglers, the 4.0 is a pretty ballsy motor, enjoy!

Winter is around the corner, so the car's in the cave...

Oh wow that's awesome :hail2: My Mustang is a run of the mill, slow '98 laser red coupe that was bought to be driven and gets 5-6mpg better than my Jeep. I currently live in upstate NY, and drive to see my girlfriend in Massachusetts every weekend (250mi round trip). I got the Mustang to make...

Winter is around the corner, so the car's in the cave...

880 miles? Dang! I've put 7500 on mine since I bought it in May. Still have to figure out where it will sleep this winter

    catted x-pipe? bbk, pypes, bassani...

I just installed a SLP catted X and I am very impressed by the fit and finish. It also sounds very smooth with my stock mufflers and is stainless so I don't have to worry about rot. I had a Bassani catted X on my '97 and that was a pretty good piece too, although a bit raspier due to the...

    gas mileage per tank help

My '97 never did better than 22-23 with 3.55 gears on the highway. My '98 got 28-29 highway mpg with 2.73s, and now it gets 26 mpg highway with 4.10s at 75mph. With a mix of around town and highway, it is more like 20mpg. Both the '97 and '98 were/are maintained meticulously so I can't...

    H pipe guys

EPIK, if memory serves me correctly, the MRT H pipe is only available for the 99+ mustangs. Back when I had my '97 I was looking for a different exhaust setup and I really wanted the MRT pipe but could not find one to fit my year.

    4.10s in and whining!

Alright guys, I finally got my car back from the shop after a full month of being jerked around. The rear end is much quieter now, not silent, but definitely 100X better than it was. Apparently the backlash was out a bit and there was a bad pinion bearing, which makes no sense because I...

    T-LOK Rebuild ... Help!

Not sure what most people do when it comes to gear oil. The only reason I used Royal Purple is because it was part of the 4.10 gear kit I bought, otherwise I probably would have used Amsoil or just Motorcraft.

    T-LOK Rebuild ... Help!

Yet another thread that turns into a flamefest. To the OP - I just had the carbon fiber discs installed on my 98GT, so let me warn you: the bite is more aggressive than the stock style. I used Royal Purple diff fluid that has friction modifier already in it, but the T-lok would still bind...

    Thanks Stangnet

Winters, it's too bad to see you go because I value your input as you seem very knowledgable about the 2Vs. I can understand where you're coming from though - there has been a lot of bickering and immaturity lately, and it's certainly turning me off from posting here too. This site cannot...

Towing a small Uhaul trailer with my GT...suicide?

It should be doable - you will also be shocked at how much stuff you can fit inside the car as well. Out of curiosity, could you work out a relocation allowance with your company that will cover a moving van? I used to live in MA as well, and when I was relocated to Georgia, I didn't have to...
