    Dumb water pump question

It depends on the year, some 289s had them and some didn't. I think it depends on generator versus alternator and alumninum versus cast iron pumps. But I think it's only necessary if you have the timing cover with no bolt holes at the bottom of the pump, the backing plate is attached to the...

    Customer Satisfaction Poll

Now it took me a minute or so to figure out what he was saying.. and I am a USSM. Y'all just need to think a bit more.

rockauto.com has 93 mustang computers for $149 + $100 core, reman of course. I think they even had 93 cobra EEC also.

    In tank EFI fuel pump.

Tried it, didn't like it. I had problems sealing the pass throughs for the pump power and ground, and the return line. Also the pump wouldn't pick up fuel unless there was at least 4-5 gallons in the tank. I ended up going external with a low pressure feeder pump into a surge tank, then to...

    Good source for stainless fasteners?

FYI to those who want to use stainless fasteners: The typical hardware store bolts are only slightly stronger than typical grade 2 carbon steel bolts. I would highly recommend not using them for important bolt connections. Also stainless fasteners require anti-seize or you will probably have...

In the middle of T5 swap...Help!!

SOunds like you have a 164 tooth flywheel instead of a 157 tooth. You can get a 157 tooth that has a 11" clutch pattern, if I remeber correctly, but they are probably not cheap. Then again, the 157 tooth for 10.5" clutches I got for my swap wasn't either. oops, late to the party as...

5.0 swap... front of motor to rad. measurements?

There are two 5.0 front dress variations, I think; a short water pump and a long water pump. If you seem to have less clearance than usual, you might have a 5.0 with the long setup.

    Final spindle assembly prototype

Go ride your vintage horse back where you came from. I'm tired of hearing you whinny every time someone does, says or promotes something you don't agree with. On an engineering note, I'd like to see the real numbers on how many original spindles actually fail from fatigue. I do understand...

    Good Bye Cali, Hello Yuma

Because Fallon residents don't complain about noise, and there are a lot more fun things to wargame against in Nevada. Oh yea, and Yuma is the right armpit of the USMC (29 being the left). I've spent toooo much time in both places.

    What size fuel line

'67 up fuel senders are 3/8 feed line, and repro '65-'66 senders are also, only the original or concours '65-'66 senders still have the 5/16" feed. So unless you are upping to 1/2", the '67 is already ok, and just switching the sender is the easy way to upgrade the feed.

    67 EFI conversion... no fire

The S terminal is the crank input from the ignition switch, the I terminal is the crank position coil voltage source. Put a voltmeter on the I terminal and you should see 12V when cranking. Run this to the coil + terminal. I integrated a '92 harness with the stock 65 engine harness, and used a...

    67 EFI conversion... no fire

I had the same problem initally (exact same symptoms also), turns out I had forgotten there are two different paths for coil voltage. One is from the ignition switch proper when the switch is in the RUN position. The other is via the starter solenoid I terminal when the switch is in the START...

    Bad roads

Y'all are youngins, Most of my trips in IL were waaay back in the 80's when they were in the midst of construction for 15 years or so, but I stand by my disrespect of the roads in SC. They do NOT know how to lay asphalt or concrete in that state. Then again most of my driving cross state is only...

    Bad roads

Ha, I'll raise you numerous trips on 80/94 from Gary, IN through to Iowa, and at least 4 trips through AK on 40 going cross country. I will say the GA portion of 85 is better than the SC and NC bits. But the concrete sections in SC are just horrible, I'm starting to think they do it on purpose...

    Bad roads

One of the worst roads I've traveled is I-85 between atlanta, ga and charlotte, nc. They've been widening that segment since 1997/98 I think, and you say concrete is better? Why the heck would they pave the southbound in asphalt and the northbound in concrete? You'd think at least they would use...

    first cali earthquake

Ha, I've spent time in both armpits of the USMC....Yuma and 29. that was one of the reasons I decided to leave active duty. They were consolidating the MACS unit I was in at Pendleton down to Yuma. Then they tell me they are setting a det up in Mirimar...that I would have liked. Plus I would...

    EFI conversion help!!!

Apparently you must have a different calculator than me, I got 16lb using 210 hp .5 BSFC, and 80% on time, the 225hp 5.0 works out to 17lb, so round up to the next standard size is 19lb

    EFI conversion help!!!

Flow Rate lb/hr = (HP*BSFC)/(Number of Injectors*Max on time) BSFC = .45-.55 unless you have specific numbers from a dyno Max on time = .8 unless you enjoy overdriving the injector coils. For TT670's 400 est hp = 400*.5/(8*.8) = 31.25lb/hr (running the injectors at 100% works out to 24lb)...
