    408 stroker in 82 mustang

With 4.10's and a t5 or tko you should be able to run 60mph and only be taching around 2,300-2,400 rpm's depending on your rear tire size. That's not much rpms so I would leave the 4.10's in the car.

    WOT going lean

What size injectors are you using? You might just need a tad bigger injector.....or a bigger fuel pump if you still have the anemic stocker in the tank.

    my 347 stroker is SMOKIN'

Sorry to sound like this but a msd box doesn't "kick in". That statement belongs in the fast and furious movies.......lol. Along with the mind blowing naaaawwwwssss kits. Seriously though. Check everything out. Check all fluids. Check plugs. What you want to see is a light brown kinda...

No power till i hit about 2100 RPM

I would definitely check your maf. I have had several Pro-M mass air meters that went bad suddenly for no reason at all years ago. I have also had a tiny piece of trash on a stock maf sensor and the car would buck like crazy below 2,400rpms. Take your maf off and look for any trash...

    408 stroker in 82 mustang

Honestly I would leave the 4.10's in the car with that setup. I should have asked this earlier but why are you contemplating changing the gears? Are you after fuel mileage, less tire spin...etc..?

    Strange timing issue

I have ran up to 17 degrees of timing with the spout out on a n/a engine without hearing any detonation. But I never chanced taking it any higher. Especially if your making more power than stock using a power adder. It doesn't take much detonation with a power adder and you'll pop a head...

New 347 startup Have a quick question

It's going to have to run for long enough to open the thermostat for water to fill it up. Also you might have to burp the cooling system of air during the first couple start ups. But normally once the thermostat opens up the engine will fill with coolant and then you just top the radiator off...

    408 stroker in 82 mustang

I would say it depends on several things. Weight of the car, type of 5 speed, purpose of the car(street or strip), what rpm you shift at,..etc... My old DSS 331 (10.5:1, AFM N-91 cam, AFM stage 3 TW'S, parker funnel web,AED 850ho carb,etc...)ran great on the street and strip with 4.56's and...

Do BBK Longtubes fit fine with a C4?

Just wondering because I have bbk shorties on the car now and I want to go with long tubes and an x pipe instead of the exhaust that's on the car. Do the BBK Longtubes fit without any clearance issues with a C4?

Will 15x8 draglites with 4.5" of backspacing clear the rear fender with 235/60 tires?

Edit: Nevermind the wheels ended up being a 5.5" backspacing so I went ahead and bought them. Mods you can delete this thread.

    Removed oil baffle/Now losing oil

I have always removed the stock valve cover baffles and NEVER once lost any oil due to it. If you are 100% sure that's what is causing it then just buy a new set of taller valve covers that can clear your rockers while using a baffle. But honestly the baffle not being there isn't your...

    Low Vacuum - Causes?

The rockers too tight will definitely cause a low vacuum problem. I had that happen when I was adjusting the valves on my old 331 once. I had 3 of them too tight and the car would barely idle and had almost no vacuum.

    Alternator and charging questions

Here are some pics of the wire in question that was burnt completely into on my car. It's the one that attaches to the new yellow wire I used to patch it up with. I tried several size fuses and every time I would start the car the fuse would blow. The battery light was off every time...

    Alternator and charging questions

It's a smaller green and black looking wire that goes to the top left of the solenoid. What wire is this and would it make the battery not get any charge from the alternator?

    Alternator and charging questions

I will definitely let you know what color the wire is so I will know what size fuse to use this afternoon when I replace the burnt section.

Hello I'm new and have a few questions

Heads are your biggest hp maker besides using a poweradder. Get a set of edelbrock performers with the 1.90 intake valves with a fms e-cam and a good intake and exhaust setup and you'll be set. I had a very simple engine setup in a full weight full interior 92 hatch that went consistent...

    92 Charging Problems. Help!

I'm glad I found this thread because I have the exact same issue with the car I just bought. It's not charging and I have a new alternator and battery in the car. This morning I found a wire burnt into coming from the harness going to the solenoid. Is a 20 amp blade type inline fuse fine...

    Alternator and charging questions

This morning I noticed that there is a small wire that is burnt into going to the starter solenoid on the fender. The car starts and runs fine but could that small wire have anything to do with the car not charging? I went to start the car this morning and it was dead so now I know that the...
