Clarkson rants on Americans and Mustang

Interesting commentary. I hope you’ll understand the American tendency to lump all of Great Brittan, Ireland and Wales together; the city I live in (Chicago) has three times the population of Wales, and over twice that of Ireland. In terms of land mass, her Britannic Majesty’s realm is...

Clarkson rants on Americans and Mustang

Sadly, everyone so far has had emotional knee jerk reactions to Clarkson and missed the point. All those English guys are gay. They want to take long showers with each other, not drop the hammer on the street. None of them have a clue what cool is.

My "NEW" Stang Complete! What do you think!?

wtf difference does it make what badge he has on the back of it? You guys are nutz. If the parts are cheap enough, I'm gonna put the same setup on my V6. That's a damn good looking car.

V6 or V8 for next car

They are selling brand new V6 coupes for $17,500 out the door. You might be able to do better if you really work on them. I don't know how you can beat that.

    Who financed through ford credit?

Call the bank first, they have to be competitive. My experience has been that ford will match what you can do out in the real world. They make money by getting you to sign up for crappy financing.

    DISABLING SEAT BELT CHIME?

The disable feature is always in the owner's manual.

    How do I remove Headrest?

The base on the other side (not the one with the button) has a little hole in it. You push a paperclip in there and it will release the headrest.

05 COUPE GONE, WELCOME 06 VERT

That red car can't get any better looking. I'd leave it the way it is.

How should I protect my interior ?

Precious little of your interior is actually leather. If you have a GT, just the perforated area of the front seats is leather, the rest of the front seat and the entire back seat is vinyl. But it gets worse. The leather they use in car seats is coated with vinyl so UV light doesn’t destroy...

Possibly making a quick turn around.... :)

You are going to get hozed financially. Your best bet is to learn to like the Mazda and suck it up. Financial decisions made emotionally always are bad.

    05 V-6 Mustang wheel HELP!!

I bought the same car, wanted the same wheel, about a year ago. I eventually bought 17" Ford Racing polished bullitt wheels - a polished version of the GT wheels - on ebay. I think I paid about six hundred bucks. http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=7873 I got...

    Should I buy, or not?

All that aftermarket stuff has zero resale value. A GT is always going to be worth a lot more in trade down stream.

    Nitrogen

I've been using 80% nitrogen for years - air. Some car racers and the aircraft industry use 100% nitrogen beacause there is no Oxygen to support combustion in a fire or oxidation on the inside of the wheel. I think it is just another way to bull**** money out of the public. I'll stick to 80%.

My 05 Mustang Build started today

So, all three Mustangs in Moncton are in a show? That corner of the world is just a tad off the beaten path. I thought the locals went down to St. John to race the tide up the beach.

    Convertables & black leather

Leather is much better than vinyl. Black is a bad news color for convertable seats, soaks up the sun's heat. I've got tan leather in my '05, The black center console cover gets hotter than hell if you park it in the sun. I would think real hard before I got black seats in a convertable.

coupe vs. vert - need feedback

I'm a vert guy and never considered a coupe. It's all about being outdoors on a beautiful day with a pretty girl. I live in Chicago, which totally sux in the winter, but the summers make up for it. Besides, everybody looks damn good in a convertable.

    COP-Watch

The cops are doing that to let you know they are there. They call it "presence". What they are really doing is intimidating you to make you think twice about speeding.
