    Traction Cont. 04 Cobra

Sounds like the TC has been permanently disabled in the tune. For S & G's check and see if the ECU has a chip on the aux port. Doubtful I know because most people choose to flash the ECU via handheld these days versus having a chip burned. Ya never know though... Was a handheld tuner...

To Steigmeier, or not to Steigmeier???

Thanks! I'm totally stoked and can't wait! Whoops! I read this and had to go back to my original post and edit my typo! I meant to type 13, not 15! U.M.

    Best suspension for 03/04 Cobra??

The only 100% fix for wheel hop on an IRS equipped Cobra is to swap it for a SRA. Since that defeats one of the many benefits the Cobra has over a standard GT there are some things you can do to beef up the rear and eliminate the majority of the hop. The following info is courtesy of PostBan...

    04 cobra belt slipping

Motoblue sucks plain and simple and so does RPM Outlet, do a quick search and you see what I mean. Lots of unhappy customers. Plus that 2.75 upper is too small IMHO, even if you have a good 100MM idler you're going to slip becuase the moto-poo pulleys are not a "no-slip" design. I suggest you...

To Steigmeier, or not to Steigmeier???

Okay cool. I know these motors are tough as nails for the most part, but they do have a weakness and that's a low tolerance for a lean running condition! That and extended high speed runs! I just about maxed my MAF out with only a 2.93 upper and this was during warm weather, I'm sure I was...

To Steigmeier, or not to Steigmeier???

So are you saying he doesn't need any of the supporting the fuel mods to go along with a ported blower? U.M.

best mods for a 2003 cobra

First mod is a good quality CAI! That one mod alone can achieve some awesome gains on this car. (up to 20RWHP!) Next best mod is a cat-back. Then a custom tune. Ford left a bit on the table with these cars. Skip the mid-pipe for now... you don't gain a lot from them on these cars. I'm...

To Steigmeier, or not to Steigmeier???

There are 2 ways to increase the rotational speed of your blower. A smaller upper pulley, or a larger lower pulley, or both. The smaller upper is the way to go depending on how much boost you want to make. Once the upper pulley size gets below 2.93 then you have to start worrying about belt...

To Steigmeier, or not to Steigmeier???

No horror stories at all! Steigmeier porting is top notch and you can't go wrong. Skip the poloishing unless you plan on "Showing" your car. Just make sure you have the necessary supporting mods to go along with a ported blower. U.M.

    Cutouts on a Terminator

Results may be even worse when used on a Terminator because the car actually performs better with a little back pressure. U.M.

    lookin to buy an 04

I'd stay away from it if I were you. Are you sure it's an exhaust leak you're hearing or the dreaded "Head Tick"? What code is the CEL throwing? Makes a big difference. All 03/04 Cobra's have driveline slack which causes a minor clunking in the drivetrain. Thing is you usually only notice...

Cam seized, timing chain broke, < 10k miles???

Sounds to me as if there may have been a manufacturing or assembly defect. With less than 10K on the odo, unless you were beating the piss out of it a major valve train failure is highly unlikely. This will be fixed under warranty I hope? U.M.

    Low boost

The Lightning blowers came with Teflon coated rortors, but I don't believe the Eaton's on the Cobra had any special coating on them. Superchargers and turbos in general have extremely tight tolerances and over time they wear like anything else. Your rotor to case clearance, or rotor to rotor...

goin crazy tryin to compress my rear brake pistons on my 95 cobra?

Did you use any "Anti-Squeal" on the backs of the pads before reinstalling? U.M.

goin crazy tryin to compress my rear brake pistons on my 95 cobra?

You can't use a c-clamp to compress it like on a standard caliper/piston because the pistons on the rear twist or screw into the caliper. Requires a special tool to compress. Go rent/borrow from AutoZone. U.M.

    Low boost

Yeap, it has the drivetrain from the ZR1 in it. Just detuned a little... down from 638HP to 551HP. :D U.M.

    Low boost

Don't really need it any longer since I sold my snake... You wouldn't happen to have one for a 2009 CTS-V Caddy by chance would you? :p U.M.
  18. U

    Low boost

With as many miles as you have on that car I would think a blower rebuild/refurbish would defiantly be in order! U.M.

    Low boost

So are you saying your manual doesn't outline the proper procedure for adjusting the boost bypass actuator? U.M.
  20. U

    Low boost

I've never done this adjustment personally. I read that the bolts on the actuator can be loosened and then the actuator can move up or down which adjusts when the boost bypass valve opens/closes. Try moving the actuator down and see if you get an increase in boost, if not slide it the other...
